Carolyn, I am very confused when it comes to John Bartlett Dail. My step-father in law is a descendant of Lydia Roxie Dail (1874-1947). I found her death certificate and it says (with a little transcribing) that her parents are Bartley Dail and Elizabett Dail.

The first time I find her on a census, she is age 9 in 1880 with her parents John B. (age 50) and his wife Sarah (age 30). Of course, then it skips to 1900 where she is married. I cannot be certain who her parents are. Did John B and Sarah Elizabeth divorce or did one of them die? At the same time that I see Roxie in 1880, Esther is living with her married sister. I feel that there is something that I am missing, but it's a puzzle that I'm missing some pieces to. If you can help, I'd be grateful!
