Im curious to know if anyone has information on Abel Dail or perhaps has a census report of 1800 in Greene/Pitt County? I keep feeling like this Theophilus Offie Dail that we all have in common has to be from the same Parent or Grandparent. Perhaps we are just missing the connecting tie here. Perhaps Joseph Dail was the son of Theophilus Dail. Joseph W. Dail was born in 1815. I've never seen anything other than the census of 1850 that shows Joseph Dail. Supposedly he was married to Susan Albritton. I have found a Jutry Dail (daughter of Matthew Slaughter Catey Cannon) buried in the Jackson cemetary near my family and I cannot figure out which Dail she married. There is my gggrandfather buried there, Theophilus Offie Dail and his son Offie Dail. There is an unknown Mary Dail buried there also born in 1812, I believe. Could Theophilus Offie Dail perhaps have been married to more than one person? So many mysteries but no definitive anwsers. Perhaps the connection is in Scotland, or England perhaps. I have all of the Dails from the 1850 census of Greene county listed in a database. There are 74 Dail's listed and at some level all of these people have got to be connected, especially having the unusal spelling variation. Anybody with thoughts on this?
