Thomas E. Dainty, 83, of White Oak, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at UPMC McKeesport. Born Sept. 19, 1928, in Coulter, he was a son of the late Thomas C. and Josephine Dainty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Marie Mains Dainty; and a sister, Martha Dainty. A retired carpenter from the McKeesport Area School District, he was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Bryn Mawr Church of Christ in White Oak. He was also a member of the Free Masons Aliquippa Lodge 375, White Oak American Legion Post 701, White Oak Volunteer Fire Department 1 and the Old Timers Golf League at Butlers Golf Course. Surviving are his sons, Thomas S. (Deni) Dainty, of North Carolina, Jeffrey J. (Donna) Dainty, of White Oak, and Brian D. (Mia) Dainty, of Liberty Borough; a daughter, Denise L. (David) Rook, of Versailles; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Dainty, of Elizabeth Township; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 2703 O'Neil Blvd., McKeesport, PA 15132, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Charles Owston, minister, presiding. Entombment will follow in the McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport.
