I'm trying to confirm my Daken/Dakin/Dakan ancestry. I think I'm a descendant of Simon Dakan (b ca 1780, of Greene Co., PA, Marshall Co., WV, Dayton, OH) and his first wife (unknown). I'm looking for any descendant of Simon who has taken or would be willing to take the FamilyFinder autosomal DNA test, to see whether we are distant cousins. Descendants of Simon and his first wife include William Daken/Dakan (b. ca. 1804, m. Elizabeth Miller) and Oliver H. Perry Dakan, MD (b. 1816, m. Ann R. Walker, went to TX). Descendants of Simon Dakan and Elizabeth Martin also would work, though the relationship would be more distant.
