We all now live in Ohio.
I remember meeting Grandpal at least once. we all where up for a visit I was about 11 not sure maybe a lil but younger we played putt putt golf and had dinner at a nice little place near that.. Then we went to his place spent the whole day there it was great.. He was so nice!! I would defently say he was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back for any reason and not even think about it cause he keep trying to give my parents money they didn't need it and would not take it so he keep trying to give it to us kids mom & dad had to sneak it back in his pocket... It was so funny to us kids... I love my granfather he was a great guy..

I would like to find out more of the family.. Where we all came from where we all are.. And if there are any reuions any more

Hi,
I'm fron the same Dalaba ..ie, William Arthur Dalaba born l799 in Washington County VT who was married 3 times and had many children. Ultimately during the l800s everyone ended up in Warren County New York in the Adirondack Mountains in the towns of North Creek, Bakers Mills. My great-great grandfather was William Dalaba who married Phebe Carey. Their daughter Caroline married George Morehouse and their daughter Ella married Jessie Waldron..Ella and Jesse were my grandparents. I have a great genealogy for the Dalaba. I think I have it on the computer data file and would be willing to send it out via email. I'm Author Gloria Waldron Hukle, lot of good pictures are at my website www.authorgloriawaldronhukle.com I've gathered while writing my novels.
Would one of those brothers be Carl Dalaba? My name is Richard Dalaba. I am 32 and live in Atlanta with my twin brother Robert. We have not seen or heard from any family since the age of 9. Unfortunately my father disowned us. Dunno how you do that to 9 year olds but ay any rate I would love to find out more about the family. Well that is if these are the right Dalaba's. I want to know our history, where we come from and get in touch with family members. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
His name was Lawson Dalaba. Only the first five of the kids are his. Terry, linda, Bonnie, chris, and Carla.
I'm his granddaughter. I'm assuming I know who you are- if I'm right, it's a pity you didn't know him. He truly lived for the grandkids (all 18 and counting!) and treasured each of us. There is at least one (maybe more, he was pretty stoic) grandchild he missed out on. It really bothered him. He loved us all.
Chris (son), Chris' son John B., Carla (daughter), Freida (ex-wife) will have details of the family tree.

What I know:
Lawson was born to a French immigrant schoolteacher (mom) and Italian immigrant (farmer?) father. His parents established a homestead in the Adarondak (spelling?) mountains. Chris Dalaba knows the exact location and is trying to bring it back into the family line.
His father died when he was a baby. His mother remarried and bore at least one other child. She died when he was very, very young.
His mother was buried on top of a mountain. He is buried at her feet as he requested.

He was a sailor in the pacific theater during WWII.
He told the best stories about life in the Adarondaks before there were cars.

You can contact me for more information. He is someone to be proud of.

I am looking for a Solomon I Dalaba, born about 1804 in Vermont. Do you know if William Dalaba born 1799 had any brothers or sisters and where in Vermont did they came from. Solomon I Dalaba had a son Solomon Henry Dalaba born 1827. So it makes me think there may be a connection. My Solomon I ended up in Sparta, Monroe County Wisconsin. He died in 1891.

Ellen Kremmer Rugg

Wow! your connection of Mary Elizabeth Mead and Phebe Jane Mead just blew me away. Jonathan Marvin and Mary Elizabeth Marvin are my Great great grandpa Burr Dalaba's wife's parents. Minnie Blanche Marvin!!! Which means that my Great Great grandpa married his 2nd cousin? It's all very confusing...maybe Mary Elizabeth and Phebe Jane weren't sisters...maybe they were Aunt and niece or 2nd cousins. My father tells me that Burr was about 10 years younger than Minnie and they married when Burr was 16. I have no official documents concerning Joseph and Phebe though. I am still trying to get in touch with my aunt, whom my father believes has loads more information.

Wow, so if that's true, then I found another connection. Mary E. Mead (that married Jonathan Marvin) had a sister, Phebe Jane Mead that was born around 1847 probably in PA. There was a James Marvin in the 1840 Census (Tioga, Tioga Co. NY) 2 families down from Mary and Phebe's dad Abram Mead.

I wonder if brothers Joseph and Jonathan Marvin married sisters Mary E. and Phebe Jane Mead. Both of the parents James & Mary Marvin and Abram & Susan Mead ended up in Woodhull, Steuben Co, NY and Deerfield, Tioga Co, PA in 1850 and 1860. Maybe the 2 families were interwined more than I had thought now. Jonathan and Joseph Marvin had a brother named Andrew Jackson Marvin who married Mary E. and Phebe Jane Mead's cousin Anna Mariah Adams.

Do you know what documents your grandfather may have concerning the marriage of Joseph Marvin and Phebe Jane Mead? I bet that this Phebe Jane Mead is my 2nd great-grandaunt.

I am confused. My records show that Maria Marvin and Solomon Henry Dalaba were Arthur Ernest Dalaba Sr. parents. Are my records wrong? My information came from my grandparents from my mother's side which isn't the Dalaba line. My records also show that Solomon Henry Dalaba's parentage was Henry Dalaba and Lucy L Haskins and Maria M. Marvin's parentage Joseph Marvin and Phebe Jane Mead. I am stuck on those though. I cannot find any parentage for them so far.

I'm not sure how correct the information is. I am great great great granddaughter of Solomon Henry Dalaba. I'm guessing they origin from New York or Pennsylvania. My family back to Burr Dalaba has resided in Kansas.

New York and died abt. l859 in Poultney Vt. -It is 45 pages though and I would have to email it to a home email.
I am Gloria Waldron Hukle and live in Averill Park, New York. William Arthur Dalaba was my gggrandfather. I come out of the children of William Dalaba his son. who married Phebe Carey. One wife was Mercy Ann Porter her mother was Polly Goodspeed.
William also married Eunice Irish who had a daughter Sarah who also married a Goodspeed.
The names just seem so similiar I thought that perhaps there is a connection. All total this William (my gggrandfather had about l4 children.

However I would like to hear from you and would help you in any way that I can. My uncle Vern just recently passed away and he was the last of Burr and Minnie's sons. My father passed away 51 years ago from an automobile accident. Lewis came to visit us when he was a fairly young man.
Regards, Iris Dalaba Lundy
