From: "The Dalby's of Northeast Texas" by Norman Leonard Dalby.
"The ninth child of Ann and Knight was Jack (John) Cooper Dalby. He was born in Granville Co., North Carloina on May 5, 1815, and moved to Texas in 1839 with his mother and the others. He returned to North Carolina at least one time, in 1845, on which occasion he executed the two previously mentioned deeds as agent and attorney for his mother, Ann Dalby. He first married Mollie Farris in Tennessee in 1852, and after her death in 1872, he married Elizabeth Whitehead. I do not know when or where the second marriage took place. Both are buried in the Dalby Springs Cemetery.
Jack Cooper and his first wife Mollie, had the following children:
First- Knight Dalby- born in Tennessee, died in infancy.
Second- BENNETT W. DALBY, who married Dora Wooten, and they had the following children:
Roscoe Dalby- married ____ Clyde. They lived at Reno, Lamar County, Texas.
Ethie Dalby- maritial status unknown-
Lena Dalby
Lelia Dalby- twins, maritial status unknown-
Anna Bert Dalby- maritial status unknown-
Donald Dalby- maritial status unknown-
One other son, whose name I do not have.
I knew Bennett Dalby pretty well untill I was about grown, and saw him a few times after I was grown, but about 1900, he and his family moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas and I lost contact with them. He lived at Ft. Smith untill his death and I believe he is buried there."
There is much documentary evidence regarding this Dalby and Bullock family. The above is taken from the "first person" manuscript of Judge N. L. Dalby (b. 1876, d. 1972)
