Hello Iain. My name is Jim Dalgleish. My great grandfather was Andrew Dalgleish and he came to the Niagara area of Ontario, Canada in 1855. He was borne in 1836 in Scotland but I am having trouble pinning down where he was actually borne in Scotland. Apparent before 1850 you could only register a birth in Scotland if you paid for it.
