I have a brick wall here. William, whose father Francis (1814-1872) was a well respected coal merchant in Galashiels, was, quoting from his obituary in the Scotsman: "He had literary abilities of no mean order, most of his work in that direction being humorous, and those who have read his "Wattie Wathershank's Adventures at Lammas Fair"
will be prepared to admit that it is one of the best examples of Scots humour now extant."
My problem is I cannot find find any reference to this or any other works by him in the Scottish library system nor in the Borders Family Records Office in Selkirk. Has anybody got any ideas where I should be looking?
