Here is a list of the Dalys living in Myross, County Cork, according to Ancestry.com's transcription of Griffith's Valuation.
I can't drawn any definite conclusions, but this is the only place that seems to have both a Laurence and a James. Neither Laurence nor Lawrence are very common names in Cork apparently. No John in this area, however.
This conversation is very interesting and I hope that eventually we'll be able to flesh out the various Daly families that came from Cork and where they ended up.
