Apologies for not replying to your last post a few years back.

I hope you had a nice trip to Fermoy / Ireland. Did you see the disused shopfront at number 2 McCurtain street with the name 'Daly' painted on top? This was my grandparents shop, the former bus-station.

But, to the best of my knowledge, shoemaking was not in the family history. Maurice Daly (my grandfather) was a soldier and died of cancer when my father was just 10.

But tonight, I'm meeting a cousin of mine (Murray, Tallow, Waterford) who might have some more info on what my great grandfather used to do profession wise.

If I find anything, I'll let you know.
