I presume you known the significance of the Bassanos and royal music? They were recorder players ay Elizabeth's court, but I'm sure you know that. I believe Elizabeth Damon/an was the daughter of William Daman (Damon), also a court recorder player. However, I can't find a birthday for your Elizabeth. Damon had a child called Elizabeth whose funeral was 5 April 1572, and we know he and others named subsequent children with the same name (vide Adam DAmon d. 26 Oct 1574, 2nd Adam Damon bap. 3 May 1581).

I'm a musicologist hunting connections for William Damon, the subject of my Master's theses.

Hope there is some fresh info here!

All the best,

Peter

I am interested in any information on my grandfather - Frederick Daman. I believe he was born in England in the 1920s. His son was born in Folkstone in 1948 but he reportedly left the family around two years later. There's a good chance that he served in the Merchant Navy. I'd be very grateful for any information that anyone might have.
Best regs, Nadia Daman

We have found a Mary Holton. age 63, in St. Louis, MI, in the 1920 census. She is living with her husband, Joseph E. Holton, age 76. She has her niece, Vera Damon, age 15, daughter of Joe Daman, living with her. We suspect Mary Holton's maiden name is Daman. Might this be the Mary Daman you're seeking?
