Armando,
I am so happy I have found proof of another piece of info on Leonarda Iacono. I believe Leonarda Iacono and Luigi D'Ambra were both born in Lipari, Messina, Sicily, Italy and their first two children, Maria 1880 and Michelangelo 1882 were born there too, since I could not find their births in Forio. They must have moved later to Forio d'Ischia between 1882 after Michelangelo was born and 1884.
Francesca D'Ambra was born in Forio d'Ischia, Italy in January 1884 and I now have a copy of the "acte de naissance" from the site Ischia-family.com. I am waiting for them to send me the digital copy of her birth. It says archive:Parrochia di San Vito Martire, register B12, reference #0677. It states her father is Luigi D'Ambra and mother is Leonarda Iacono. I am so happy to find this info. I know my grandmother, Maria D'Ambra Castaldi's oldest living son Salvator (b.1900)(my uncle) was sent to Forio with his uncle Michelangelo to live with his maternal grandparents in 1910 to become a priest in their church. He left 3 yrs later and returned to his family in Philadelphia, PA USA in 1913. On the manifest it said he lived with grandfather Luigi in Forio. I wish they had the manifest of people leaving USA too on ancestry.

When Luigi and his son brought Maria here to USA, NY in May 1896 and first stopped to visit relatives in Providence, RI first before going to Phila. PA to marry Giovanni Guiseppe Castaldi on Sept 14, 1896. My next mystery is who did they visit in Providence, RI? There are many D'Ambra's and Castaldi's and Iacono's in the RI phone book. I do have one cousin in Providence, RI who is 86 years of age and his last name is Iacono and his mother was a Castaldi. I have never met him but we communicate about 6 times a year. He know nothing of his ancestor other than names of his gran and greatgrand parents. He said his sister who has passed away was the keeper of the family information. He is taking computer lessons at the senior center and I hope he get a computer soon so we can talk more often. I hope to meet him too before one of dies. I will have to let him know of my new info. If you find anything else please let me know. Joanne
