Hi Joanne
I cant exactly match what you wrote with what I have.
However if you are really interested and keen, you can trace Luigi's ancestry back to circa 1629 by visiting a LDS library.
MF 1338513/4/5 1467209 Lipari church/civil records is what you need to view.

These are some of the record about Luigi:
1467209 1846 N 221 Births Lipari. LUIGI D’AMBRA. Before Don Giuseppe Milio, sindaco, appeared Giuseppe D’Ambra 34, industrioso, who declared that on 17/11/1846 @ 13.00, his wife Maria Lombardo 28, gave birth to Luigi, who was baptized 18/11/1846. Testes: Giuseppe Basile 40, facchino, and Michele Antonucci 61, barbiere.G/p Vincenzo Lombardo.(26v/9)

1338515 1846 S3 26/9L Lipari Baptisms. LUIGI (ALOISIO) D’AMBRA di Giuseppe and Maria Lombardo was baptized 17/11/1846 by Fr: Giuseppe Palmisano. Patrinus: Vincenzo Lombardo.

Luigi migrated to Providence USA on the Dalmatia from Naples arriving in NY 28/5/1896, with his children Maria and Michelangelo. Ellis island records Page 083, Manifest number 0607. No mention of spouse.

To this day I have yet to find a satisfactory answer about whom he married and where.

He had 2 brothers and 7 sisters.

Note that he was named after a brother of the same name that was born 1840, who died before 1846.

Armando
