Hi, I was reading the post and was glad to come across yours. My grandmother was Maria D'Ambra Castaldi married Giovanni Guiseppe Castaldi on Sept. 14, 1896,(I have their wedding picture) at Mother of Sorrows Church, Phila., PA and I can not find any info on her family other than Maria (Dec 27, 1880-May 02, 1931) daughter of Luigi (April 1846) mother Marie according to the 1900 census (name was spelled wrong) it was Domber, Luigi and Moore (Marie?)and children: Michelangelo May 1882 & Francesca June 1884. Maria's mother and sister Francesca came to Phila in 1897 after Maria first baby died. I have a story I wrote about my ancestors on my computer. I have found Castaldi families back as far as 1740's but no luck with the D'Ambras's. subscribed to www.ischia-families.com for most of my info. Now that I hear Luigi was born in Lipari, and not Forio, maybe that is why I am having trouble find Luigi's ancestors. Thank you. I am glad for any info.
