Heinrich Demuth, wife Anne Geissler and kinders arrived from Beuttenhardt, Schauffhaussen, Switzerland 1742, to Phildelphia, Pennsylvania.
They settled in Lampeter Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and had sons, Heinrich (Henry), John, Sebastian (Boston) and Melchior (Malachi) from 1744-1754,
christened in Holy Trinity and Reformed Churches in Lancaster. Heinrich and Anna (Honor) Demuth/Tamewood (variant spelling) migrated down the 'Warrior' Path
from Pennsylvania to Frederick Co. Virg. where they purchased land in 1765. Sons Melchior/Malachi and Boston Tamewood/Damewood are next found in Botetourt Co. Virg.
1772-1775 paying taxes. Boston Damewood joined the Rev. War and served in various skirimishes in Virg. then served with Clark's Battalion in Illinois, receiving land for
service in Shauneetown, Illinois, and Jefferson Co. Kentucky, he and wife Mary Margaret migrated from Jefferson to Mercer, Greene and Christian Co. Ky. 1785-1795, then lived in
Robertson Co. Tenn. where sons Henry and John W. owned land. Boston Damewood applied for Rev. War pension in 1841 in Rutherford Co. Tenn. and died there in 1844.
Sons Henry and John W. Damewood migrated to Jackson Co. Missouri, and Henry Damewood took wife Nancy and children to Sabine Parish, La. where he died in 1849.
Dau. Jane Damewood married William Henry Stroud in Sabine Parish in 1853.
