John H. Damewood was born 1770/1777 in Virginia, the oldest son of Malachi Damewood. John married Catherine Huffman in 1798 in Montgomery Co., VA. Their children were: Anna, Elizabeth, Henry, Jane, Hannah, Mary (Polly) and John H, Jr. He was born 1822 in Knox Co., TN.

John H. (b. 170-1777 was the brother of Susannah (Susan). The Susan Damewood who married Gilbert Zachary is the daughter of Jacob Damewood (brother of John H.)

I have NOT been able to establish whether or not John H., Jr. (b. 1822) went to Indiana.
