I'd just posted a query about Dr. Leo Dammann, my great great great grandfather, a physician from the Prussia/Austria area. Once I read what you'd posted , this sounds like the same person. Maybe the Leo that my mother had told me was short for Lewis. He had at least 2 daughters - an Augusta & an Annie (Anna). Besides, how many physicians named DAMMANN from the Baltimore area could there be ?
What I know is this : My great great grandfather, LYTTLETON F. JOHNSON 1849-1917, moved to Baltimore from Somerset County when he was in his teens. He became engaged to a daughter of Dr. Dammann, named _________. She died before they were actually married. Lyttleton then courted and became engaged to the daughter named AUGUSTA. They married and had 1 son named HARRY 1882-1927 and 1 daughter named LILLIAN (LIllie) 188?-1955. AUGUSTA died very young, probably around 1884. Lyttleton then married another Dammann daughter, his third, this one named ANNIE (could this be Anna?). They had 6 children : Lyttleton Jr. (LEE) 1884-1949, Maude Elizabeth (MABEL) 1886-1911, Anna Belle Rose 1888-1969, Alice Olivia 1892-1982, Julia 1894-1907, & Howard 1896?-1971. Lyttleton owned a plastering business. They specialized in doing the ornate plaster ceilings that were popular at the time.
Maude Elizabeth Johnson Biddix was my great grandmother. She died 2 days after giving birth to my grandfather. His father later married her sister Anna Belle Rose. Nine of those mentioned above, except AUGUSTA and HOWARD, are buried together @ DRUID RIDGE CEMETERY in Baltimore , Md in a plot across from the masoleum.
