Hi

I am researching the Sheffield Flood (12th March 1864) and am trying to locate the graves of as many of the victims as possible, with a view to then further researching their family line.

One of the poor victims was Walter DAMMS, who died at the age of 20. He worked as a servant in a shop at Malin Bridge owned by Mr Price. All inside were drowned including Damms. He is recorded as being buried in Sheffield but I have not yet managed to track drown the exact cemetery.

I am currently in touch with a living descendant of Walter’s - do you, by any chance, think you may also be related? If so, could you supply any further info of your family line?

Look forward to hearing from you and thanks in anticipation of your reply.

Best Regards
