There were at least two main sets of Damrons/Damerons running around the state in the 1800's. I think that one of the Moses Damrons (of whom there were several in the US over time) went to Ballinger area.
Do I remember seeing that name there? On a building or something? It's been twenty years since I lived in Angelo.
Search in the online Handbook of Texas for mentions of Damerons and Damrons. Also, the GenForum Dameron and Damron pages are a good resource.
I'll keep John Steele Damron in mind. It would help if I knew how old he was at death; I do have several John Damrons who came to TX (John Damron Jr., who would have been too old, and John Schultz Damron of Ellis and perhaps Bell Co, who was m to a Sally, but he was b 1818, so again was too old. The children I list for him include Nathaniel and Laury.
Please post here if you find him; I'm sure interested!
