      <description>&lt;br&gt;           Marian Bole Danbom, of Leland, N.C., &lt;br&gt;died peacefully in her home, &lt;br&gt;Tuesday, March 2, 2010, &lt;br&gt;with her daughter, Laurie and son, Bob. &lt;br&gt;Marian was born in Erie, Pa., on January 20, 1916, &lt;br&gt;daughter of the late Hugh Edward Bole and Floy Parker Bole, and was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Bole. Remembered, was her husband, Laurence "Larry" Edwin Danbom of 63 years, who passed away November 4, 2003. He was the head coach at Cathedral Preparatory School from 1937 to 1938. Marian was a graduate of the Class of 1933 from Academy High School in Erie, Pa. She was voted "Most Popular Girl" by her Senior Class and was first semester class Treasurer. Marian played the drums in the first girls' Drum and Bugle Corps to be started in Northwestern, Pa. After high school she attended Edinboro State Teacher's College, now Edinboro University, in Edinboro, Pa., where she received her Teaching Certificate with a two-year degree. She then attended the University of Wisconsin and was voted Prom Queen in 1938. When Marian, also known as "Sis", was 16 years old, she modeled for the cover of the January 7, 1933, issue of the Saturday Evening Post magazine painted by artist Eugene Iverd. She also modeled for McCalls magazine and was in the May 1933 issue as "Her Mother By-The-Week". Marian's patience and love for children allowed her to do what she loved best and that was to teach school for 20 years. After she retired from teaching, she spent 20 years in the business world in Washington, D.C., New York City and Wrightsville Beach, N.C. She is survived by her two children, Robert Edward Danbom (Bob) and wife, Susan H. Danbom, of Seattle, Wash., and Laurie Danbom Inman and husband, Roland (Jimmy) Inman, of Leland, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jay E. Danbom, of Dickinson, N.D., Kelly L. Inman, of Raleigh, N.C., and Laura G. Danbom, of Seattle, Wash.; and great-grandson, Tyler E. Danbom, of Dickinson, N.D.; sister-in-law, Adele Bole, and niece Barbie Walter both from Erie, Pa. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers, Dorothy, Wendy, and Kris, with Coastal Companion Care for their love and exceptional care they gave to Marian. Also, a very special thank you to Marian's neighbors, Richard and Beth Roessler. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at Oleander Memorial Gardens near Bradley Creek in Wilmington, N.C. Officiating will be Pastor John C. Misenheimer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. "Thanks for the Memories", Mom. I will miss you forever.
