Seeking more information about the parents and siblings of John Dancer, born circa 1860 in Alabama and died 1947/48 Columbia County, Arkansas on land he owned near Dorcheat Creek and Keena Lake. John and siblings were described as a light skinned mulattoes whose father quite possibly was white. John is buried in the Friendship Cemetery African-American church near Mckamie, Arkansas.

John's father, possibly Simon???, allegedly donated land to the Home Near Church in Columbia County. I have no information about John's mother.

John married Ella Huggins, eldest child of Gabe Huggins and ???? Lawson (the sister of Will Lawson). Children included:
o Walter
o Claudie who moved to Texarkana
o Freddie
o Joseph who married Ardine ???? of El Dorado and had three daughters and moved to Texarkana TX
o Dougie who died young
o Bennie called "Uncle Son"
o Irena who married Bennie Bolden
o Hattie who married Bill Morgan and had daughter Leola Morgan
o Otha who died young
o Mabel who married Mr. Caldwell and then Porter Davis of Louisiana
o Aretha who married Arthur Owens from whom she bore one child
o Carrie, nicknamed Sugar, who married Tom Washington, then "Son" Edwards of Smithland. Children included Johnny Williams, Maggie Washington, "Buck" Tally George Washington, Classie Washington, Jonah Hadley, and Billy Joe Edwards

John's sister Adline was born circa 1858 in Alabama and died in Waldo, Columbia County, Arkansas. She married James Chambers in 1881 and later married/divorced/or was widowed from Mr. Mallory between 1910 and 1920. She may have been married first to a Mr. Simons because her marriage certificate calls her Adline Simons. Her children included:
o Ed who married Etta Malone and had children Pinkie (m to Sam Burton) Mollie (m Grady Summers), David (m Curtie B Patton), Gradie, Roy, and Harvey. Other kids may have been Lotta Ree and Mae Ree.
o Richard who married Arris Willis and later moved to Dallas
o Emma who married John Bell then Elijah Pigee/Best with whom she had Junior, Robert "Kit," Issac R, Jessie M, and Adeline
o James Jr who married Timpsey/Tensee Willis and had Fanny, Volina, Vesta, Theron, Thurman and one other daughter
o Ardie (my Ggrandmother) who married John Roberson and had 12 children, including Scott, Houston, Harrison, Thurston, Addie, Irene, Leland, Lennie, and Elisee
o John who may have married Callie ???
o Calep who married Savannah Mixon and had Travis, Otis, Gladys, Willie Mae, Willie Arthur, Willie James, Gayland, Lonnie, William Otis, and Mabarene
o Lenora who married Virgie Davis and had son Wesley
o Arthur "Coot" who married Viree ????. Children included Josie Mae, Annie Mae, Viree, Vera, Rubinelle, David Lee, Hurdis Lee, and Arthur Jr

John's sister Laura married a Macaffee. Her daughter Maggie maried a Mr. Lewis and then a John Jeffrey.

John's oldest? brother Walter lived in the Macedonia community in Columbia County and married Rosalie ???. Their son was Calvin.
