I've determined that by the 1920 and 1930 censuses, Charles and Lena moved to Indianapolis. From there, I don't know where they went to. There are several children, including three boys, Ralph, Howard and Charles. I haven't had any luck finding marriages for either one of them. Haven't found anything for the daughter, Julia, either.
Thanks for helping! I really want to get these pictures to someone who will cherish them.

I don't know who the family is yet... but I know that Lena married Charles Welch and also had these other children: Claude, Ralph, Howard, Lenora, and Thelma. The first children were born in Cuyahoga county but the last 2 were born in Indiana. Most would now be over 100 years old now... so I would have to try to figure out who their children were/are. I always like a puzzle! I'll keep looking.
-Holly Danforth Heiple

Contact me direct at frank.poulton@grattan.co.uk and we can share the information. I am missing George Edward decendants though for some reason. I last had him in 1891 living with his parents and was a Coal Miner. regards Frank

Hi, Thankyou for replying so quickly. I do hope there is a link. If I have the right Matilda and Joseph, they went on to have children named Edwin, Henry, Joseph, Joshua, Esther, and Charles Edward (my g. grandfather). There may have been others. I believe they lived in Stead lane, Darfield, Barnsley at the time of the 1881 cencus.
If this fits with your info. I would love to have anything you can give me as I have not been researching very long and am a bit of an amateur.

many thanks.

Sarah.
William Danforth

Looking for any information on a man named William Danforth. In some places his name is written as William E. Danforth. He was born in Syracuse, New York on May 13, 1867. Real surname: Daniels. Was an actor on the stage, wrote 1 screenplay for a film called "The Gates Of Eden" in 1916 and appeared in 1 silent film "The Seven Swans" in 1917.
Am searching for any data on the names of his parents and siblings.

He died on April 16, 1941 in Skaneateles, New York and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetary, Syracuse, New York. That is all the information I have at the moment.

I'm guessing but I believe he had a brother named Frank Daniels who was also an actor.

hi-

It's been a long time since you posted, so perhaps you may have already found the information you were seeking. But just in case I'll tell you what I found.

In the 1880 census, there's an O. L. Danforth living in Granby, Oswego Cty, NY.

He's 31, a carpenter. Hard to read, but it looks like his father was born in Virginia. Mother b. NY
Wife= Tilley, age 28 Parents b. Canada
Mother= Olive age 65 Parents' nativity not stated.
Sister= Emma Acker age 19 Job listed is "sewing"

In 1910 he's in 1-WD San Diego
age 60, Father definitely b. in Virginia
Tilley is 55, parents listed as from English Canada
and their niece, Matilda LaMay, lives with them. (age 12)
Oscar's listed as a General Contractor, and Tilley's a storekeeper (dealing in candies)

1920 census
San Diego City
He's somehow managed to age only 4 years lol
Age 64, Father now listed as born in Kentucky.
Tilly only aged 5 years--now is 60

Living next door:
David W. La May age 47 Parents Canada (English) Occ: Lather
wife Cora M. age 47 Parents Canada (English)
dau Matilda Hollingsworth age 22 divorced

I checked into the LaMay connection and found some in Oswego Cty in 1880.
in Granby:
Franklin age 50 b. Canada
wife= Christine age 35
4 children but I can only make out two names:
Frank age 19
_______14 (no sex listed)
Christine age 12
_______ m age 10

also in Granby:
Lewis age 33 b. Canada
Mary 28
5 kids:
Mary J. 12
Judy 10
Rosa 6
______ (no sex) age 4
______ (no sex) age 4

In Volney, Oswego Cty there's an
Ida Lamay age 21 listed as a widow? Hard to tell.
Peter age 27 also listed as a widower? Could be an "M" for married, but Ida's the only female I see in the house. Peter works on canal
Alfred age 2

Hope I was able to add something.

Stacy

Carl A Danforth of Elkhart IN killed in South Pacific in WWII

Carl A Danforth of Elkhart, Indiana was declared killed in action January 17, 1946, after being missing for a considerable length of time. He is officially listed as missing or buried at sea. His name appears on the “Tablets of the Missing” at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We are seeking information regarding his military and civilian life.

I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information about servicemen from your county killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. Please visit our website to see the beautiful memorial located in Manila, Philippines.

http://fizkid.tripod.com/

My wife and I visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. We do not send them to regular mailing addresses due to the costs. Please help us find the families of the men that might still be living. Our project is only successful because of teamwork and your contributions are noted on our website. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page on the website. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date.

If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times for us.

Zenas5@yahoo.com

Sincerely,

Dave and Apple Dwiggins
San Pablo City, Philippines

Parents of Lucinda,b.abt.1811, of Schenectady,NY.

Dear Danforths:

A recently discovered letter states that my greatX3 grandmother, Lucinda, who married Peter Mullen after 1835, was a Danforth. The U.S. Census of 1860 lists her birth place as Schenectady, New York. The Census does not, however, give her maiden name. She was born around 1811 and her children were Jane?, Peter, Hugh, William, Lucinda, James, Maria and maybe two others. I am seeking confirmation of Lucinda's maiden name and also info on her parents and her siblings. Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Tim

Tim Mullen

Your John DANFORTH is my gggg-uncle, brother of my 3xg-grandfather Daniel DANFORTH. John married (1) Hannah - 1 child and (2) Mary COPELEY in 1810 - they had 7 children including the ones you mention. I have descendancies for two of them: George and John. I am doing a limited (UK only) DANFORTH study and am happy to share what I know -contact me direct on celia@valinor.force9.co.uk.

1904 School picture/Idaho

I have a picture of my mother's class, 4 students and teacher, taken at a one room schoolhouse in either Sandpoint or Priest River, Idaho(I don't remember which). It was taken April 27, 1904. One of the students listed on the back is Irene DANFORTH. She may have been 13-15 years of age, probably born around 1890.
