my grandfather(maternal)legally changed his lastname from "Dangel" to something else. Since he is no longer alive, I need help finding his siblings (my aunts/uncles) and all of their extended family who are related with the name of Dangel. I know that his father was of German decent and his mother was black.

If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking for relatives of a George Dangel married to a Louise Baun (b. abt 1850). Louise imigrated to this country in 1866 when she was 16 years old. She is listed as being Mrs. George Dangel from McKeesport, PA in the obituary of my g-g-grandfather, John Christian Baun, dated May 11, 1903. If you have any connections to this couple, please email me. Her sister is mentioned as Mrs. Mary Heideher (believe that is a mispelling) of Monaca, PA.

Glad to hear someone intereseted in these Dangels. Why do you think it's the same lineage? Not sure if I can be much help. I'm pretty sure that my Gertrud had a brother named Johann Konrad born about 1729 and possibly another one named Johann about 1737, but those are not sure. Also Gertrud's Father, Johann may have had a brother named Balthsar probably born around 1680-1690, but that's another guess. I don't know much more.

My Dangel connection is in the mirky Hessian past. Getrud Dangel was born about 1720 and was the daughter of Johann and grandaughter of another Johann Dangel. Her gr. gr. grandson, Johann Trageser, emigrated to America. Anyone have connections?

I have an Ursula Dangel that emmigrated to the US about 1867-68. She married George Selk. Story goes Ursula was the head housekeeper for Kaiser Wilhelm before she came to this country. After marriage they moved to Carrol, IA., then to Calispel, Montana. He was a boot maker, but after moving to Montana, they bought a tug boat then a side-wheeler. Last known to have lived and died approx. 1910-12 in Galesburg, IL.

Also, Ursula and George's daughter (unknown) married either Joe or Ignatz Dangel and lived in Scotland, South Dakota. This couple had children named, Harry, Frank, Albert, Louie, and Augusta.

I am George and Ursula's g-g granddaughter.

This is all info I have. If anyone has any matches to this info please reply.

Thank you,
Allison
