Virginia M. "Jean" D'Angelo, 91,
passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011,
at Kane Hospital, in McKeesport.
She was born April 13, 1920, in McKeesport,
to the late Nick and Harriet Salvi.
She married her beloved husband, Anthony "Chuck", in July of 1941, and they lived in Glassport.
Along with her husband, she was active in the Glassport Sons of Italy Club where she was a life member and an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary when it formed in the 1940s. Jean was a fun loving gal who loved to dance, sing, play cards, watch the Steelers and Pirate games and cook Italian dinners for her husband and friends. The highlight of her life was to visit her sister, Eleanor Schwab, in Ohio, and spend several weeks every summer with her sisters, Vera Coburn, Rita Harris and Marlene Salvi, in San Diego, where she enjoyed the races at Del Mar, summer pops concerts, family picnics, side trips to San Francisco and Las Vegas, and a Mexican cruise. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Chuck; and brothers, Louis and Armand. She is survived by her four sisters who loved her dearly and will miss her; and by many nieces and nephews, including John and Louis D'Angelo, of Glassport. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the E.C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME INC., 235 Monongahela Ave., Glassport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday at Queen of the Rosary Church,
in Glassport. Burial service will follow
at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, in Elizabeth Township.
