CANFIELD – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road, and at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Catholic Church for Fred D’Angelo, 68, who passed away suddenly at his Canfield, Ohio home on Saturday evening.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) on Feb. 12, 1943, a son of Fred R. D’Angelo and Clara R. Febo.
He was a graduate of East High School, Class of 1961 and a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 377, where he worked in Construction for over 35 years.
Fred was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Kathleen, of almost 34 years, and adored his two children, Freddy III and Stacy, who were the loves of his life.
In his younger years, Fred, an avid gun collector and sportsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing with his uncles, Joe, Herbie and Rocky, and friends.
Fred was very intelligent, witty and politically savvy.
He made an impression on everyone he met with a personality that filled every room with warm laughs, wit and humor.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (Daley) D’Angelo; son, Freddy R. D’Angelo III; daughter, Stacy D. D’Angelo; brothers, Edward (Elizabeth) DeAngelo and Phillip (Lisa) DeAngelo; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Fred R. D’Angelo Sr. and mother, Clara R. Febo.
Friends will be received at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 3100 Canfield Road, Youngstown, today, Jan. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
