Ira V. Dangler
Ira Victor Dangler, 56, employee of Portsmouth works, Wheeling Steel Corp., died at 10:45 p m. Sunday at his home, 1004 Harrisonville Avenue, New Boston. He had not been well for some time and his condition had been serious since Thursday. Mr. Dangler, native of Paulding County, had been employed at the steel plant for the last 16 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Lee Dangler; a daughter, Lorena at home; a step-son, Ralph King; a half-brother, R. V. Dangler of Michigan and two half-sisters, Mrs. Allie Guth of Port Clinton and Mrs. Hattie Guth of Trowbridge. Funeral services will be held at ? p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church, New Boston, with Rev. W. W. Barndollar officiating. Burial will be in Harmon Cemetery at Duke. Short services will be held at the Christian Church at the cemetery at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be under the direction of Richards. The body is at the residence.

Hi, I'm trying to research my dangler ancestry and have little info to go on. my grandfather was Norris Leo Dangler who married Barbara Hurt. Norris's Father was Curtis Charles Dangler who married Clara Helen Norris. Curtis' Father was Curtis Charles Dangler as well, annd he married Elizabeth Sullivan. Anyone know anything?

Hi my name is Rose. I am starting to research my family history. My grandfather was George Henry Dengler, born in NJ, at birth than change to Dangler. His dad was Henry George Dengler, NJ, born in 1892 and mother Olga, NJ. He had a sister name Caroline B Dengler, born in 1918. I know some where in the line they came from Germany but having a hard time going from here. Anyone with any information please let me know.

I am not sure if I am researching the same family line, but I will give you the details as I know them, and maybe there might be a connection somewhere?
I am researching a Deborah Ann Dangler who was the daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Dangler of Greenville, Darke County, Ohio. Deborah was born in Ohio about 1836, as far as I know she met and married William Mansfield. They had tow sons that I know of:

Samuel W. Mansfield born in Ohio on April 15, 1855, and John W. Mansfield born in Ohio in 1862.

Samuel died in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 13, 1931, he was cremated.
John W. Mansfield met and married Louise Owsianny/Lawrence (family name was changed from Owsianny to Lawrence). John and Louise had a son Earl born in Minneapolis in 1895, shortly after Earls birth, John abandoned his family, at this time I have no idea when he died and where he is buried?
Louise who was a great great aunt of mine, passed away in 1928, and her son Earl died in 1977. They are buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Minneapolis.
I am trying to find out what happened to John W. Mansfield. I was wondering if you might have any information?

Hi Alvin. Just read your message and will start off by sending you a little of what I know to see if were on the right track. My mother was a Rank. Her Mother was Erma Dangler Rank who married my grandfather whos name was either Charles Rank. They lived in Roseville Michigan. My Grandmother along with several of her children were killed in a terrible car versus Train wreck. Of those Ranks that survived their were 4 boys and 1 girl. Hope to hear from you. Joan

I am looking for information on Evelyn Dangler, daughter of Matthew or Nathan Dangler. She would have been born probably sometime after 1875, as her daughter Ethelyn was born in 1907. Ethelyn, to my knowledge was born in Monmouth County, NJ.

Evelyn Dangler married William Wegeman.

I was told our Dangler side came from England, but it seems more like a German name to me.

Baby girl born in the late 1800s in Vanwert Ohio to Emily Ellen Brown. daughter of Columbus Francisco Brown and Mary Anna Johnson Brown. Father of the baby was Adam Rubin. Said to be Jewish. Emily Ellen was 16 years old at the time. She was asleep and they told her the baby had died, even though it was full term and there was no grave or funeral. More than likely, the father's family took and raised the child.

1. Did you have Dangler family in New York city at the time of the General Slocum disaster, there is a family by this name mentioned in the accounts at that time.
2. Do you know your Jacob's fiance's name?

My Gret Grandfather was reported to have died in the Civil War. He had Two Children, Mary and John orphanded and seperated on the Orphan Train. Records show there were 4 soldires died in the War. Uriah Springsteen Windsor, N.Y. Enlisted July,17,1863 @ age 30. Died at Camp Parole Annapolis,MD. April 1,1865.

DeLoss' mother's name is/was Josephine.

It is unclear, because I have not spoken with my ex-inlaws in a few years, whether Josephine Dangler is still living.

Josephine's maiden name was Bleu.

all I have is that my great grandfather, Jacob Meyer, married a woman named Hannah Danglers. Hannah Catherine Danglers. She is buried in St. Michaels Cemetery in Queens, NY. I don't know if they married in Germany, Ireland or the US but not France. He came to the US sometime between 1874 and 1849 and he fought in the Civil War on the Union side. he was a glass blower in a factory in Port Jervis NY and lived in Matamoros PA as well. They had four children; Frank born in 1870, John born ?, Anna, and Jacob. Frank was my grandfather and married Mary Healey, they had two children, Thomas and Catherine (named for Hannah). John married a woman named Maime
and had four children; Jenny, Emmy, Giorgianna and Frank. Anna married a man named Stroble or Strobel and may have had one daughter, the family lost touch with her when she went away to work in a factory. Jacob never married; he disappeared after losing his fiance in the General Slocum disaster (you can see that on it's own web site). do any of those names mean anything to you? unfortunately I only know what happened in Hannah Danglers life after she married...I hoped that someone might recognize the name and her married details and connect her with family they knew...you know, my aunt Sarah had a cousin named Hannah who married a man named Jacob Meyer who was a glass maker in Pennsylvania...that sort of thing.
