I am the grand daughter of elva and william kromeich. I remember my aunt Jeanie who was my mothers half sister. Her real name was juanita. I also remember my aunt elsie but very vaguely. My mother was one of six girls by William. But I stayed with my aunt jeanie for a while in the late 70's. She was a very nice lady. My aunt Voni helped to pay for her burial costs. I could not tell you how old Jeannie was but i do remember her. if i can help in any other way please feel free to contact me. My mothers name was Virginia but i think in the geneology they have her listed under another name. I know my grandma called her June.

Martha Danley Hiatt's daughter Nacy Jane Hiatt Taylor gave her mothers birth date and place as 14 Apr 1784, Surry, North Carolina. There is no reason to doubt this information. Nancy didn't identify her grandparents.
There was a John Danley in Surry and Orange counties during this time, an older man, who had sons Thomas, James and John, Jr. John Sr. donated land for a Methodist Episcopal Church which is still standing.
Marth was not a daughter of Isaac Danley and Nancy Dunnigan, they had another child the same year Martha was born.
Hope someone can help untangle this.

I would more than welcome any information or photos you are willing to share with me. I visited the Vandalia cemetery in May 2010 looking for Julia's headstone, but I was running out of daylight and couldn't find it. I thought she may not have had one since I didn't see her name on the Vandalia cemetery listing on the web. I do most everything on the web. But I do want to go to Ohio and try to find some of my ancestors headstones in and around Morning Sun. There are also lots of Foster relatives that appear to have been buried around there. And I've been completely unable to connect John Danley to anyone. I've found a few good prospects, but that's it.

Thank you for responding and for your help.

Hello ghbeers,
Nice to make contact with you...have seen your postings on Ancestry.com. I have photo of Julia Ann Mosier (Danley) headstone from Vandalia Cemetery in Iowa to share...if you would like.
Have you done much of your research via the internet? Or have you gone to Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, PA and investigated at the courthouse. Have searched the Darrtown cemeteries online and have found no record of John Danley being buried there...what do you make of that? Have you made any kind of connection with the "Danley's" coming from Ireland? Will gladly share info of search strategies/results.
Bob Danley
Lolo, Montana

Re: Juanita Danley

I'm not sure from the information given. Juanita Danley who is in the household of stepfather William H. Kromeich in Galena, KS in 1930 census was born in Kansas according to the census. I am inclined to believe that is correct place of birth for her because she is listed in same householdI in the 1920 census (stepfather's name was spelled Carmack and she was entered as Wanetta S.) and her birthplace is also listed as Kansas. Her age is 2-1/12 in 1920 which would indicate that she was born about Nov or possibly early Dec 1917. Siblings in the household were Earl L., age 10; Murel A., age 8; and Mildred, age 5. Murel A. is possibly Albert and Mildred might have gone by Elsie.

Her older brother Earl was in Hezekiah and Elva T. Danley household in 1910 census for Richwood Township, McDonald County, Missouri. If the information I have found is correct, they have 13 half-siblings from Hezekiah’s two previous marriages. The proximity of McDonald County, MO and Cherokee County, KS would also indicate that the census records are probably correct. I am second cousin once removed of Wanetta S./Juanita who was daughter of Hezekiah and Elva but don’t know much more about her than what I have here.

There is also a Juanita Danley, age 7 in the household of Kit D. and Addie Danley in 1930 census for Young County, Texas. Texas Birth Index has Juanita Danley born 31 Dec 1922; Birth County: Young; Certificate Number: 76401 Roll Number:, 1922_0004. She would be a better match for place of birth but none of her siblings given names match the ones in your query. Texas Birth Index also has A C Jr. Gain; Date of Birth: 13 Mar 1949; Gender: Male; Birth County: Orange; Father's Name: Albert Cecil Gain; Mother's Name: Juanita Jewell Danley; Roll Number: 1949_0005. This is probably the same person.

Bob Danley
Bella Vista, AR

Thanks Linda. I have traced your family thru the 20's also thinking they might tie in with my own. My ancestor is J. Anderson Danley born 1800. He married Catharine Comins (Cummins) and lived in Hope, NJ. I have traced all his descendants also. There may be an early connection between us but I have not found it yet. I haven't made the connection to James Danley born 1783 and there is an earlier James born 1752 who is part of this also. Possibly Joan would be able to shed some light on this. Do you have an email address for her? (You may email me offline at musco57@hotmail.com)

Yes, John Danley is my great, great grandfather. His wife's name was Elizabeth Vanselous or spelled in the Hunterdon Co. marriage records as Vanzelious. Sometimes the family spells it Vanzealous. Their children are:Amy M., Margaret, Lewis, Hiram E., Stacy, Mary, George W. (my great-grandfather). I have been able to trace the relatives in Hunterdon County. I only have information up to the 1920's.
About the information concerning the deed. This was a hand-written copy of information from Joan Verity of Kingwood Twp. New Jersey. Here's what her information says:
"Another deed dated May 7, 1799 James Danley & others to Thomas Lequear.
James Budd of Hanover located & surveyed 600+20 acres of land on Leogland Brook in Kingwood Twp. by certificate Oct. 12, 1713 recorded in Book A page 141 in secretary office Burlington
John Budd last will dated Jan. 18, 1731 convey same to Humphry Murry who being seized tracing it down to Danley heirs."
I don't know if this is of any help to you. Let me know. I have been to the Kingwood United Methodist Church cemetery. My great-great grandmother and g-g grandfather are buried there. Kingwood Twp. is pretty close to Stockton and Frenchtown. I also have information from Joan Verity who attends the church there and knows alot about the old time families about the Danley farmstead. It was along the Delaware River.
Linda

Linda, Do you know the names of John's wife and/or children? There is an Andrew Danley born 1770-1780 who married Mary Thatcher Curtis 4 Dec 1798 in Hunterdon Co. He died in 1831 in Warren Co. In the 1830 Belvidere census he is listed with four sons. It's a POSSIBILITY one is John.
My Danleys are from the Hope area but I believe they originated in Hunterdon County. Could you tell me where you found the info on James and where the property was located, etc. (Any info would be helpful). Thank you!

I can help you with this. John Cecil(1895-1929) married Nellie Wood (1902-1971). She remarried, after John Cecil died, to a Montgomery. The head stone says Nellie B. Montgomery but she is buried with John Cecil in the Claysville Cem. John's parents are Martin Adams Jr.(2/2/1856-7/24/1909) and Mary Frances Wolfe(1860-12/8/1924) they married 12/5/1879. Martin Adams Jr. is also buried at Claysville Cem. Martin Adams, Jr. father was Martin Adams, Sr.(10/31/1811-4/2/1882) who married Catherine Martin (7/17/1828-6/15/1905). They are buried in Dogwood Cem. in East Finley, PA. I have Martin Sr. brothers and sister but not sure what else you need. I still have family in Washington, PA and visit once a year. I have many headstone photos and cemetery records. I'm currently waiting for Martin Sr. birth cert. to prove his parents, which I believe are William and Elizabeth Stillwagon.
