JESSE DANN was born Abt. 1833 in Buxted, East Sussex, England. He married BETS(E)Y ?. She was born Abt. 1839 in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England.
He was the landlord of the New Inn, Pevensey, East Sussex around 1880, became a housebuilder and moved to Percival House, Westham sometime before 1901.

WALTER T DANN, b. Abt. 1863, Pevensey; d. Aft. 1901.
WILLIAM JESSE DANN, b. Abt. 1864, Pevensey; d. Bef. December 1900.
FREDERICK JAMES DANN, b. Abt. 1865, Pevensey; d. Unknown.
EMILY MARIA DANN, b. Abt. 1866, Pevensey; d. Unknown.
CHARLES H DANN, b. Abt. 1870; d. Unknown.
ALBERT E DANN, b. Abt. 1876, Pevensey; d. Unknown.

WILLIAM JESSE DANN married RHODA WOOD 24 May 1890 in St Marks Church, Bexhill, East Sussex, daughter of HENRY WOOD and ANN BALKHAM. She was born 14 October 1868 in Bexhill, East Sussex, and died 22 January 1952 in Meadow Place, Rattle Road, Westham.
Newspaper Clippings:
a) Mrs. Rhoda English, a well known Westham resident, who lived in the village practically all her life, died at her home, Meadow Place, Rattle Road, on Tuesday. She was 83.
A widow for many years, Mrs. English was twice married. Her first husband was Mr. Dann, a member of a well known Westham family. Her second husband, Mr. Edwin English, died many years ago.
Mrs. English was born at Norman's Bay. She leaves two sons and two daughters.
The funeral has been arranged to take place at Westham Parish Church today (Friday) at 12 noon.
b) The funeral took place at Westham Parish Church on Friday of Mrs. Rhoda English, of Meadow Place, Rattle Road, Westham, who died on the previous Tuesday.
The Vicar, the Rev. H. Coulthurst, officiated at the service and at the interment in the churchyard. The immediate mourners were Mr. C. W. Dann (son), Mrs. E. M. Halshead and Mrs. E. A. Morley (daughters), Mrs. E. Parkes (sister), Mr. A. E. Dann and Mr. F. J. Dann (brothers-in-law), Mr. L. G. Morley (nephew), Miss I. Russell and Miss C. A. Dann (nieces).

Children of RHODA and WILLIAM DANN are:
ETHEL MAUDE DANN, b. 16 April 1891; d. Unknown.
EVELINE ALICE DANN, b. 29 September 1893; d. Unknown.
CHARLES WILLIAM DANN, b. 23 November 1894; d. Unknown.
REGINALD FREDERICK DANN, b. 12 February 1896: d. Unknown.

FREDERICK JAMES DANN married ALICE LOUISE ? Aft. 1891. She was born Abt. 1864 in Warwickshire, England, and died Aft. 1901. They lived at Floral Retreat, Westham, East Sussex, which was a Florist/Fruit growers as well as a Tea Room. I have two postcards showing the back of the house including various members of the family.

ALICE MAUD DANN, b. Abt. December 1894, Battle; d. Unknown.
LILLIAN MABLE DANN, b. Abt. July 1900, Westham; d. Unknown.

I am connected to the DANN family through RHODA WOODs sister ANNIE WOOD who married THOMAS JAMES RUSSELL and owned a dairy farm "Uplands" across the road from the Floral Retreat in Westham.
If anyone has any further information/leads, I would be very grateful.
