Well, my grandfather is John Danny (Jr.) and he's half Indo-Guyanese and Portuguese. My great-grandfather, John Danny Sr., the one I mentioned that was half Black, I was told he was half Black by my grandma. But, this makes no sense since his son (Jr.) definitely was Indian (Indo-Guyanese). So I think that he was mixed with Black, White, and Indian. It's very confusing, sorry! But all my mother's family have the surname "Danny" and are Indo-Guyanese.

Perhaps "Dannie" isn't a likable variation of "Danny," but it's good to note that the surname is associated with Indians too.
