Dr. Josephina D’Annunzio "Jody Nuzzo", 38, of 225 Illinois Ave, Erie, Pa., died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, September 5, 2008. Dr. D’Annunzio was born October 14, 1969 in Bradford, Pa., the daughter of Virginia Sweeley Grice Nuzzo of Erie and the late Anthony C. Nuzzo Sr. She was raised and educated in Corry where she graduated from Corry Area High School in 1987. Following high school, she attended Geneva College and graduated with dual minor degress in Chemistry and Political Science and a major in Biology. She continued her education at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and served her residency at Millcreek Community Hospital. Dr. D’Annunzio enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia. After six years of military service, she returned to the Corry area and worked for a short time at Titusville Area Hospital and most recently worked at Corry Memorial Hospital in the emergency room. In addition to helping and caring for people, Dr. D’Annunzio enjoyed photography. Dr. D’Annunzio is survived by her husband, Dr. Daniel Tolciu of Erie whom she married September 23, 2006 in Corry. Also surviving are a brother, Chip D’Annunzio and his wife, Goldie of Los Angeles, Calif.; three nieces, Sofia, Francesca and Luciana D’Annunzio; several step siblings; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center Street, Corry, Pa. and attend a funeral service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Brian Eiss will officiate.
