Hi Irv..Im guessing that your grand father was one of the nine children born to James and Jane Dano of Halstead Bay Leeds and Lansdowne area in Ontario... not too far from Grindstone..they were Charles Norris born 1861, Ambrose born 1865, Ellie born 1867, Frank born 1869, Agnes(Tina) born 1869, Lila 1870, James Jr. 1872, Delbert 1879.........all these kids were the family of James Dano who married Jane Shirtleff..they are buried in Cross Cemetery in Halstead Bay. His father and mother was Joseph Dano (Denaut) or various French Canadian spellings he married Julia Haskins in 1833 and they had also had nine children...they both were born somewhere in the US....but I dont know where...Well this is a start ..let me know what you think..Scott Dano
