AWARD OF BRONZE STAR MEDAL
By direction of the President and under the provisions of Army Regulations 600-45, dated 22 September 1943, as amended, a Bronze Star is awarded to:
Sergeant Paul A Daneau 31229433, Troop A, 90th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized), United States Army, for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States at Blanfelden, Germany on 8 April 1945. When his column was attacked by numerically superior enemy forces, Sergeant Daneau, car commander, braved intense hostile fire to skilfully maneuver his vehicle and direct effective fire upon the enemy, making possible an orderly withdrawal. His exemplary conduct reflects great credit upon himself and the military forces of the United States. Entered the military service from Massachusetts.
