Catherine DANTON born c.1802 Margate, Kent, England

Catherine DANTON, was born c.1802 Margate, Kent, England, according to the census records from 1841 onwards. She was married to Jospeh Pearcy, presumably sometime before 1834, where or when though?
Catherine & Joseph lived in Mitcham, Surrey from 1841 until their deaths. The children that are on the census records, were born in Mitcham, Surrey, England too.
The birth certificates of a couple of their children, revealed Catherine’s maiden name of DANTON but I would like to find out more of the DANTON family. Catherine was my OH’s Gt Gt Grandmother. Can anybody help please?
Regards...Teresa
We wanted to know more about her father, who I think was William Danton? Do you have any information on this era? Many thanks, Ele.
I got most of my material on this line from a privately printed publication 'Researching roots : Terry family' which is in the Society of Genealogist's library in London. It was written by Jane Wheaton.
I have not been able to produce a Huguenot connection for Danton although Debock/Deboke/Debeak/Debeke is a Huguenot/Walloon surname. Many were to be found in the town of Sandwich, Kent from the 1630s onwards.
William Danton b 1743 is my 5*great grandfather. He and his wife Susanna Debeake had 13 children, the eldest of which, Sarah, is my direct line ancestor.

I don't have any children listed for William and Susannah so the addition of John is interesting. I only information I have gotten from the net. William Danton was born in 1743 and married Susannah De Beak in St. Mary, Minster, Kent in 1769. William's Father was William Danton and Jane Sithers. William was born in September 1705 in St Lawrence, Ramsgate and died in 1769, Jane Sithers was born 26 September 1708 in St Lawrence, , married 30 September 1734 in St Lawrence and Died in 1782 in St Lawrence Ramsgate. William's Parents were Stephen Danton born in 1665 in Worth, Kent England. and Jane Terry They were married in Ash Kent in 1688. That is as far back as I can go. My father told me that the Danton's were Hugonots from France but I have never been able to make a connection.

I noticed that in the packet of papers you were given the name Attorney Lombardi, Revere, Massachusetts. It looked as though he had prepared the paper that lists your siblings. What connection did Attorney Lombardi have? I am from Revere and I am curious.
Thank you,
John Lutes
Or is she the 2nd wife caring for the children of the 1st wife? I know it is possible for a 13 yr old to give birth. Was it a common occurance in those days!
Janice

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. No, I definitely did not mean that I thought Henrietta had children when she was 12 and then got married a few years later. That is definitely not "a common occurrence".

Obviously I can't tell from looking at just the one census entry whether Henrietta is A) the mother of the 2 children and her age is simply miswritten, or B) the young second wife of the head of household and not the mother of either child. But I think it's likely one of these two possibilities, and more probably the latter. And it's that sort of thing that I meant was not uncommon.

I'm sure Mr. Grieve would be able to straighten out what's what; it's his family after all.
