LYON MOUNTAIN -- Anna D'Antuono, 93, formerly of Lyon Mountain and Providence, R.I., died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at the Farrar Home, Malone, N.Y.
Born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y. on Nov. 10, 1912, she was the daughter of Alexander and Melvina (Cheska) Kourofsky.
She was married to Francis D'Antuono on Oct. 7, 1940, in Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, Providence, R.I. He predeceased her on Sept. 21, 1978.
Mrs. D'Antuono is survived by a sister, Mary Stunzi of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; four brothers and their wives, John Kourofsky of Dannemora, N.Y., Alexander and Estelle Kourofsky of Lyon Mountain, N.Y., Francis and Betty Kourofsky of Silver Bay, Minn., and Walter and Rita Kourofsky of Lyon Mountain, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Eileen Kourofsky of Lyon Mountain, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Stanley, Joseph, and Anthony Kourofsky; a sister, Anastasia Fadden.
Mrs. D'Antuono left Lyon Mountain after graduating from high school at age 18. She lived most of her life in Providence, R.I., and returned to the North Country in April 2003. She was employed in the hotel industry for many years including the Builtmore Hotel in Providence, R.I. She was active with Senior Citizens of Hope, Kelley-Gazzero Senior Citizens and a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
Calling hours will be held at Lyon Mountain Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, from noon to 2 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. in St. Bernard's Church. Burial will take place Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, R.I. Arrangements are through the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
