Hello,
I have not seen any other names outside of John Henry and his parent's Thomas and Bridget.... according to a copy of a death record from 1899 in Rhode Island. I have J.H. being born in Illinois around 1860 with his parentage being Irish... My family history had this man being the father of my maternal grandfather but it now appears he was a step-father to him.. I'm not sure if this helps you? But good luck!

Do you have any information on Edward's parents and siblings? We believe my g.grandfather (John, b. 1828 in Co Clare) had brothers named Edward, George and Michael. His parents were Patrick Darcy and Ellen McGuane

Hi I see you are related to the D'arcy's of Galway i am tracing my husbands tree his G grandfather James Darcy b in Galway think married Bessey Trevilin his son also James b 1874 married Mary Oates b 1885she was born in Boyle we cant find much about them and wondered if they are in your tree.they moved to Armagh where they had drapers shop a lady called Susan DeAngelis has added a photo of the shop to her tree and think she may be my link but cannot contact her have you come across these names

Hi Steve do you have a James D'arcy in your tree b 1874 Co roscommon, married Mary Oates b Boyle 1885,these are my husbands grandparents really struggling to find much about them other than they moved to Dobbin Street Armagh where they had a drapers shop a lady called Susan DeAngelis has added my photo of the shop to her tree and dont know how to contact her as she blocked people have you come across any of these names any help would be great,

dear Julie, my g'father is Edward Osborne, he is the son of john Osborne D'Arcy who is the son of Anthony Osborne D'Arcy. Edward Osborne married Sarah Harriett, first marriage. Then remarried Amy victoria Taylor.

We are also searching for information about the D'Arcys or the Osbornes family tree.

Not sure if we're on the same family or not. My grandfather was a John Patrick (1899-1984 so definitely no match there sorry), his grandfather Martin was transported to Tasmania along with his brother also William, in 1851. Their father, William D'Arcy (Darcy)(1792-1886) was 1 of at least 4 brothers & 1 sister around the Hacketstown area.
Benjamin D'Arcy. (14/2/1801- 20/7/1851)
Thomas D'Arcy (born @ 1803)
Joseph D'Arcy (born @ 1805)
Peter D'Arcy (born @1807)
Martha D'Arcy (born @ 1809)
Some of Benjamin's descendants ended up in Canada & the USA.
Jeanette Neagu comes via this line so hopefully she'll see this thread also.

Hi, my partner Raymond Darcy, and I are trying to research his family and keep hitting blank walls. Your message is the closest we've come to potentially finding out about his family. His father was Glen Roy Darcy 1939(?) to 1982, and grandfather was John Patrick Darcy 1910(?)to 1959, and that's all we can find.
I was wondering if this ties in at all with the information you have.

My g. grandfather, John H. Darcy who was the son of Patrick Darcy and Ellen McGuane, came to North American circa 1850. John married Mary Moran of Co. Kildare on 25 Apr 1853 at Notre Dame in Montreal, Quebec. A witness to their wedding was Catherine Mahar. Catherine also was the godmother to their son, Patrick Robert, who was baptized on 16 Feb 1855 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Boston, MA. We are thinking she was kin to John. On October 25, 1858 son no. three, John H. Dorsey, was baptized at St. John the Baptist/St. Stephen, Boston, MA. His godmother was Margaret Disacy (Darcy.) Supposedly there were other relatives in Boston when John and Mary Darcy lived there. They left Boston in 1859 and moved here to Texas.

The John D'arcy in My tree was Likely from Marahmore, , Moycullen, Co. Galway. There were at least two D'arcy Familys that I know of. I am related to Both. Thomas Marrrried Mary O'Sullivan Whao I know had a sister Ann. It Has bee a number of years since I have been back to Ireland and the cemetreies. Some of the name you are talking about are familar. My side of the D'arcy family settled in the Boston Area and did not stray west so far as I know. I have not done much in following those that entered throught NY as I dont have the detail I need from the Irish aide of my family there. Which I soon hope to have nd sort uot. ML

You may have misunderstood, I am questioning who were the parents of Thomas Darcy, LOL.

It is believed my John Henry Darcy had a brother named Thomas and one named James. Parents were Patrick a d Ellen.

Assuming we have the right person ..... it would be a big time WOW ....John Henry would of been my grandfather's step father..... However on John Henry's death certificate (Sept 1899), it says his parents were Thomas and Bridget .... it would not be the first time I've come across inaccurate death records...... his parents were Patrick Darcy and Ellen McGuane. We are not sure where they were from. My g. grandfather was supposedly born in Co Clare.

His name was also Jonn Henry Darcy. He came to North America circa 1850. The family used the Irish naming tradition when naming children so the given names are repeated in each generation.

I'm looking for information on a John Henry Darcy supposedly born in Illinois to a Thomas and Bridget Darcy around 1861 ... in 1890 he marries a Mary Jane McPeak of Warwick RI and "adopts" her son and changes his name to William Henry Darcy from William Russell McPeak.. John dies in Sept 1899 in Natick RI then part of Warwick RI...I believe he is buried in St Mary's Cemetery in West Warwick...

There was a James D'Arcy living w/ my grandmother in NY in 1897 and at another address earlier. He was related to my GGrandmother Rose D'Arcy [brother? cousin?]. Rose's father was Thomas D'Arcy, brother was Thomas also. Mother was Ann Dalton. She lived in the same house on Pitt St in NYCity in 1860 w/ a James D'Arcy who owned the building.Haven't figured out the relationship yet. This older James was born in 1793. Is this any help?

Actually Stephen 1793 the only written record is likely to be the baptismal at the church in the Townland in the Parish he was born. Once you have the Townland you can expand from the with the other records bringing the information forward then bactracking again. I'm 28 years in now and still going.

I looked at the tree. Do you have Birth places or towland names where James came fron. There were James' in the area I told you about, but there were several D'arcy families. I am sure that they were all blood relatives in one way or another. Anothe Question Were they livinf at the time of the Thith Applotment, Griffiths Valuation Or either cencus 1901,1911. I believe all this is available on line. The number of times I have gone to Ireland I have gone to the national library, national archives, joyce st and the irish life building to get hard copies .
