I am doing research on the Darlands of Goldendale, Washinton for Tim Tuttle, formerly of Goldendale. Samuel Reynolds Darland is Tim's great-great grandfather. Tim's father is Keith Darland Tuttle, son of Bert Clair Darland, who is the son of Isaac Calhuan Darland, son of Samuel R. Darland. Tim and I would appreciate any information you may have.

Sincerely, Millie Lim

Hi, Linda -- I don't think I'm part of your particular Darland family branch (I am part of another), but I'm writing to caution you to not give personal information on any internet site, even one as friendly and helpful as this one. It's incredibly risky and can lead to serious and permanent problems and complications. Just for your information. Keep all personal information in private email, if you feel the need to give it at all.

Good luck with your search -- I hope you find whomever you're looking for.

Best regards,
Cynthia

The twins were my great-aunts on my dad's side. I would love to get any info about them and the Darland-Savage and Ball families, including any family trees. Aunt Effie and Aunt Ethyll taught me about alot of stuff in the national Geographics magazines. The last time I saw them it was at my dad's funeral. they asked me if it was true that blondes have more fun? I know they were trying to comfort me with humor. I miss them alot!!! My address is Linda Savage 101 E. Hwy 67 #30 keene, Tx 76059 My phone number is 817 899 0629. Thank you. :)

Linda

Sandy -- I'm wondering if you have any information on Lucille Mitchell, whose mother was Alice Elsey Darland?

Lucille was my mother and told about the years after her mother died that she spent in New Sharon with an Evans family. I can't remember the name of the Evans' daughter, but she would have been a little older than my mother, who was born in 1909; I have no idea if they were relations or friends. I think my sister has a couple of pictures from that time. Thanks for any info you might have. Cynthia Lewis.

Just a reminder that John F. Darland and wife Catherine Cloyd, he was the son of Garret Darland and Edna Daniels, are among the many members of the Dorland/Darland family included in The Dorland Engima Solved by Barbara A. Barth published in 2006. Their ancestry is documented back to the original immigrant for this family line, Lammert Jansen Dorland. This book corrected the mistakes and errors which appeard in the John Dorland Cremer book. Barbara a writer for the New York Genealogical Society was a Dorland descendant as am I. I also descend from this particular line of Darlands and as the researcher and editor of the book, I can assure you that it is considered on the best written and document genealogies around.

If you are interested, I will be happy to give you further information. You can contact me at jacassidy22@verizon.net.

Thanks

Judy Cassidy

New Early Dorland, Prev. Unknown to America 1743

Good news everyone, I recently came across a previously unknown, to me at any rate, Dorland, one Jacobus Lambertsz van Dorlandt, who sailed from Amsterdam on the Wapen van Rensselaerswyck in September of 1643, arriving in New Amsterdam about the first of March 1744., He was age 20 when he testified in regard to the burning of a house at New Amsterday, March 9, 1644, he was one of four men brought over to be employed at Rensselaerwyk, a shoemaker, and someone who was enough trouble from time to time that he appears extensively in the Minutes of the Court of Rensselarwyck, 1648-1652, translated and edited by J. F. van Laer, Archivist, Division of Archives and History, Albany, The Univ. of the State of NY, 1922. He also used the alias of Jacobus Lambertsz.

The Minutes can be found on line, either on Google books or flip books, so you can read all about him.

I have had to change my email by the way from aol to verizon.net.

Judy Cassidy
jacassidy22@verizon.net

First of all, I want to thank every one that has sent in info on The Darland Family. I do apperciate it very much. I haven't belonged to Ancestry.com for a while. If any one wants to contact me they can at my e-mail address - kathiestx@msn.com. I was wondering if any one has any pictures of their Darland families that they would like to share. I have a few but not many. The Darland Family is on my husbands mother side of the family. My husband's mother was Donna Rhea Darland Nesbitt. She is the daughter of Bert Edward Darland and Margaret Elize Carroll. Bert is the son of Elijah Newton (Newt)Darland and Tinnie Belle Reed. Bert Edward and Margaret Elize (Carroll) Darland, Augusta Lawarence and Donna Rhea (Darland) Nesbitt and Elijah Newton and Tinnie Belle (Reed) Darland and Olin and Hattie Darland are all buried in Morton Memorial Park, Morton, TX. I'm still looking for info on his brothers and sisters and parents and grandparents. Thank you every one for your help.

Kathie Nesbitt
110 E Kleb
Caldwell, TX 77836

kathiestx@msn.com

Hey Chuck, I think your dad and my dad are half brothers. I know he has a half brother named Ray and lives in Washington. My dad (Richard "Dick" Duane Darland) past away last year in June and I have been searching the family since then. Ray signed my dads guest book online with the Houston Chronicle Obits. My grandfather was Gus D. Darland. My gtandmother was Emma Hanson Darland. She died when my dad was 3 years old, about 1937 I think. My dad also had two other older brothers named Bob and Chuck who I knew very well but also passed away over the last few years. They lived in Idaho. We also have an Aunt who is living in Washington. Her name is Patricia "Pat" Lloyd. We have many many more cousins living all over. I have two brothers (Ron and Rick Darland) and one sister (Shelly Darland Coats) We all live in Texas. I tracked our Darland fathers to the year 1285. If you think we could be cousins that would be great! I would love to get to know you. I have a lot of strong Darland blood in me and I am so proud of my name as my dad was the greatest man ever! Take care and I hope to talk to you soon.
Julie Darland Wilson

He is living around Seattle somewhere. I think it's Belvue. I know vey little of my Dad's side of the family and my Dad as I said and I was surprised to see on the internet that there are a lot of Darlands in Washington. I was always told by my Mother that we were the only ones around. I would be interested to see if I am somehow related to any of them. I was born and raised in Port Orchard, Wa.
