I have come across some items that I believe are your grandfathers, John Jacob Darmody. They include pictures of him as a young soldier, a number of negatives of pictures, written correspondence involving military assignments, letter from the Indiana National Guard to the father of Private John J. Darmody, empoyee ID card from The Dearborn Publishing Co., some empty envelopes to Emma or Thomas F. Darmody, one envelope with a handwritten receipt inside from a painter who did some work, and a handwritten account of John Darmody's early work history and military promotions for Who's Who In Indiana. I want to be sure these items get to someone who is a direct descendant and will value them. I would not want to think these things would merely show-up on an auction on E-bay and be sold. Afterall, I could have done that. Please advise what our next step should be.
