Leoda was Leonard's 2nd wife. First wife was Hilda Darnaby. No children with second wife. Only child was Shirley who is the daughter of Hilda. Leoda died in Florida. Don't know Leoda's maiden name.

I am Virgil Darnaby's neice, Wendy. My Dad was Bryant. Were you the lady who called me in Springfiled, MO. I found Darnaby Tingley(??) info on Shackleford website.

It would be enjoyable to re-establish contact with Barbara, Does she have an E-Mail address, I knew her sister real well, back in the late 1950's, I also knew Billy Henshaw, I went to school with him.
Do you know where Marie is, the last time I saw her was in the mid 1960's, she was married, and I to was married, so it was just a casual meeting and visit, and I have never seen her since.

Hello David,

Several years ago, I put in an inquiree, to try to get in touch with the Darnaby girls, I knew all three of them, back in High-
School days, and Cheryl , put me in contact with Barbara,
but after several months of corresponding with her by E-
mail, we seem to have lost contact, I also knew Billy
Hanshew from Ceres High School , that was many years
ago, I know Barbara was having some health issues, but
she seemed to think she had it under control, so tell me,
how is Billy and Barbara, and her sister Marie, I dated
Marie for quite some time, during High School, then I joined
the Navy, and we lost contact, but after getting out of the
Navy, I did see her a couple of times, but she was already
married, and I was also Married, so we sort of went our
separate ways, but I always thought all three of them girls
were very nice girls.

Malinda Darnaby

I am looking for Malinda Darnaby who married William Spindle in 1819. They had 3 small children and William died. In 1838 Edward Darnaby, father of Malinda died and she is mentioned in his will as being married to Joseph Terry. I would appreciate any information. Thank you.

Yes these are the very girls I was looking for, I know your Mother, and she married Billy Hanshew, that must be your Dad, I went to school with him, at Ceres Union High School, that was a long time ago, but I'm sure they will both remember me. But of the three Darnaby girls, I knew Marie the best, she was a very nice and sweet girl, I went with her for quite some time, when we were young and still in school, but to make a long story short, I joined the U.S Navy and we sort of lost contact.
I sure would appreciate it if you could put me in contact with your Mother.

This makes my day, I didn't expect it to be so easy, to get in touch with some old friends that I lost contact with about 45 years ago, but this new electronic gaget they call a computer and the internet make a lot of things possible now, that we never though possible, just ten years ago, thank you very much for being our go-between.

Hanshews in Cali

Out of curiousity, do you know which Hanshew you descend from that went out west?
There is lore in my family that 2 brothers went west, to a number of states, Cali included. As it goes, the 2 brothers went west, and one stayed out there. The other came back with a woman, who either he or another one of his brothers married. I'm just hoping that you might be part of the clan that landed out west. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Jane saw your inquiry about Malinda. I do not have date of birth or death on Malinda but the information I have indicates see did married Jospeh Terry and live in Alabama for awhile but apparently he either died or the sperated because she shows up back in Tenn. using Spindle as her last name. William Robert A. her son was living there and I assume that is reason she went back to using Spindle.
Edward was her father and her mother was Elizabeth Turner. William was her Grandfather and her grandmother was Mary Ann Plunkett. It has been awhile since we visited but you helped me so much in the beginning.I have a lot of information on the Darnabys. We even went to a Darnaby Reuion in Coffee, Co. TN. back in 1997. Dear Dean, I was so glad to hear from you. You were right. Bill Hanshew is my Dad. My Mom and Dad have been married since 1953. My mom is not well. She is currently undergoing chemo and radiation for Breast cancer. But I think that this will cheer her up. My parents live in Lodi, CA. My Aunt Marie lives in Modesto, CA. Was my maternal grandfather. Died as a result of a car wreck in Bourbon County, 1957. Was an only child of Texiana Gorham and Thomas Darnaby. Am interested in ancestors of his parents, grandparents, etc.
