Harry Oakley Darrington
Harry Oakley Darrington,78, of Lotus, Calif., born July 6, 1926 in Placerville to James and Margaret Darrington, died Sunday Dec. 19 at Marshall Hospital. Harry was survived by his wife Beverly D. of Lotus; his daughter Gayle Blood of Hayden, ID; sons Gary and Bruce Darrington of Spirit Lake, ID; sister Jean Dixon of Carmichael, Calif.; brother Francis "Bud" Darrington of Placerville, Calif.; step-children David and Don Nichols, Christy Arsenith, Dick and Tom Celio; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Harry graduated from El Dorado High School in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft Carrier USS Monterey. Mr. Darrington worked for many years in the logging and construction industry in El Dorado County before moving to Montana where he retired in 1995, just prior to returning to El Dorado County where he resided with his wife Beverly.
Harry's family requests remembrances be sent to the El Dorado County Veterans' Memorial Fund.
