Hi there.

I am a descendent of the Darroughs from Indiana. I know some of the family changed the spelling and that Clarence Darrow was among the relatives. I am very interested in any family tree info/research. I have 48 years of diaries from my GGrandfather John Thomas Darrough and will share.

Thanks--Diane

Hello--I am related to Clarence Darrow too--I remember my grandmother being very ashamed of the connection--and I don't know how he was related to Grandmother, whose maiden name was Nellie Geneva Darrough. I would like to learn more about this. I have lots of Indiana Darrough information.--Diane

Children of Benjamin Darrow and Elizabeth Binkley - Documentation

I have seen a list of the children of Benjamin Darrow and Elizabeth Binkley posted in several places and also in the Dickson County Heritage Book. The only source that anyone mentions is a book about the Darrow family. Does anyone have this book? If so, would you be able to share with me the sources for their children? Or if you have found evidence for any of their children yourself, would you mind sharing it with me? I have researched Benjamin Darrow at the Tennessee State Library and Archives and have found very little information.

I have been able to identify only two children, Christopher and James W., both from Goodspeed publications of the nineteenth century.

Any help appreciated. My primary genealogical interest is the Binkleys of Tennessee and their descendants. Elizabeth Binkley's father, Adam, was the brother of my great-great-great grandfather John Binkley.

Sara Binkley Tarpley
www.binkleytarpley.com

George Darrow of Michigan

I need some help. I'm looking for information on George Darrow. I recently found a census record of one Goldie Zimmerman (my great grandmother) living with George and Dora C. Darrow in Ann Arbor, MI. She's listed as their daughter...problem is, Goldie's parents were Frank and Minnie Cutter. She was living with George and Dora, however, in 1920. I'm thinking she'd just married my great grandfather, Lewis Zimmerman, and Lewis was, at the time, gone to war.

George is listed as being 66 years old in the 1920 census record, so I'm wondering if he isn't perhaps Goldie's GRANDfather.

I also found an earlier census record of a George Darrow with the same birth information, only married to an Amilia Darrow. Dora was perhaps a second wife?

Basically I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a George and Amilia Darrow or George and Dora Darrow, and perhaps a Minnie Darrow? Minnie was born sometime in the 1870's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im sure George Darrow is honored by the advance in rank but if you are refering to George Darrow of New London Cn , ca 1650 to 1702 he was a sargent in the British Army , I am a direct descendant of his first born son Christopher Darrow, I have records of his sons and his connections to Ireland and England if you would like I can photo copy and mail you copies of that branch of the family, it is also the same branch of the famous lawyer Clarence S. Darrow who was my grandfathers cousin

In your original post you said "My gfather Samuel's father was a Jonathan D." I am researching a Phebe Darrow and Joseph E. Darrow, they both lived in Brooklyn. Based on my research, I believe that Joseph, Samuel, Phebe and Catherine Darrow were all siblings. Phebe married Augustus Pinckney, Joseph married to Emily Mott, Samuel married twice (can't remember their names) and Catherine married a Burrows. Does any of this sound familiar?

I have other pictures that I have from my own collection or have been given by others. Let me know what you are looking for. I desend from Alta Darrow (my grandmother) whos mother was Rebecca Fenton Darrow. I have pictures of her mother Rebecca Fenton and her mother Anna somebody. (I'd have to look it up.) Thank you for your interest in me. Ric.
