You need to get in contact with our other relatives to get info. about their children and their children's children. Aunt Maxine had 2 children (Sharon and David Moore); Aunt Elaine had 3 children (Charles, Donna and Scott Hopkinson), Aunt Alberta had one son (can't remember his name!),Uncle Norman had 2 children (Norman Jr. and Mary-Beth Daudelin), Aunt June had 2 daughters and one son (Susan, Billy Folger and I can't remember the other daughter's name), Aunt Wanda had 3 children (Steve, Mike and Cheri Bowden), Uncle Eldore had 4 children (Brad, Robert, Becky and me-Heidi Daudelin).

Friend: Do you or others know who the parents were for Michel (?) Daudelin who married Judith Roi dit Desjardins in Longueuil, Quebec and had several children, among them Louis or Elizabeth Daudelin who married Joseph Magnan dit Champagne. Joseph and Louise or Elizabeth left Quebec eventually and settled in Peru, New York about 1835 for 18 years prior to moving to Bridport, Vermont in the late 1850s.

I have no idea whether Michel is this man's formal first name. I have no idea of his Daudelin background. I think that he and Judith may have married in St. Antoine's Church in Longueuil. These people are my 6x gr. grandparents.

Hello: I just read through your vast Daudelin tree. Any information about a Louise Daudelin who married Joseph Magnan dit Champagne in Longueuil about 1828/29? Her father may have been Michel Daudelin who was born about 1784. She may also have been Elizabeth Louise Daudelin.

Hello;

Moise L. Daudelin would be my great grandfather. He and Antoinette are buried in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Glens Falls, NY, along with some of his children and grandchildren.

THis is what I have from the cemetery: He did marry Antoinette E., she lived 1836-1903. I am pretty sure they were the first ones in the Glens Falls area. I believe the next one in line is Joseph Daudelin, 1871-1936. After him the family name was anglicised. Next to him are Lillian T. Dudley, 1881-1960, Henry F. Dudley, 1869-1955, and Louise M. Dudley, 1888-1979. And of course my father, Edward Dudley, died 1956.

Not sure when Moise got married. Maybe the church office would know. It's in Glens Falls, too.

Hope this helps! Do you have any other info on who he was or his ancestry? I would really be curious.

In my data base your father name is Laurier Daudelin and your grand father was Elie-Godefroy Daudelin married to Odena Choquette.( Your father change is name to Wilfred in the USA)

They moved from Canada, to Thompson Ct.

Thank you for responding. It is difficult searching this family because of the common name: Joseph Bassett(Bessette) and the ancestor habit of changing their names, not always their doing, I know. Some are certain that the Joseph and Zoe in question are the parents OUR ancestor, Joseph Bassett. I have two sources that say his wife Julia was born in New York and another that says a brother was married in the Methodist church in Quebec, so it is a good idea to look in other places. We have a marriage for a Joseph and Julie in Quebec, 1848, but another source birthdate for a daughter Apr 1848. Can we count on the accuracy of the records or do we look for other answers?

We are so close to finding the marriage of Joseph & Zoe.

This is what we know so far: Joseph Amable Besset was baptized on August 21, 1801 at the Notre Dame du Rosarie, County of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, son of Charles Bessette and Marguerite Vegiard dit Labonte.

Zoe Daudelin was born on October 10, 1808 in Boucherville daughter of Amable Daudelin and Therese Seguin/Laderoute.

So far we know of nine children: Joseph, Edouard, Hubert, Zoe, Antoine, Alfred-Henri, Louis, Moise Emory & Michel.

Their first son Joseph Amable Besset, Jr. was born on September 6, 1826 and baptized on September 8,1826 at St. Cesaire church. Married Julie Bourbeau on June 13, 1848 in St. Cesaire church.

Charles & Marguerite had another son Michel who married Scholastique Daudelin daughter of Hubert Daudelin & Pelagie Sequin in Henryville on January 8, 1833.

I believe that we have the right family. We just have to figure out where Joseph & Zoe got married!!!!

It seems that Joseph & Zoe changed from being Catholic to Protestant (Baptist). They had twin sons born May 18, 1850 in Mawcook, township of Granby, Qc, baptized in "Baptiste Roussy Memorial" church of Grande Ligne. I have also received information from the Bourbeau Family Book regarding two more sons that I was not aware of. This is what I have so far:

Joseph Bessette born abt. 1797. Zoe Daudelin born abt. 1802. They were married abt. 1822. Children:

1. Joseph Bessette born abt. 1823, m. Julia Bourbeau, June 13, 1848 in St. Cesaire, Rouville, Quebec.

2. Edouard Bessette born in 1834. Baptized December 13, 1834 in Henryville, Qc. [Catholic church; Godfather Amable Daudelin, Godmother Marguerite Vezina].

3. Antoine Bessette born September 17, 1841, St. Cesaire, Qc. Married Emilie Langlois, November 19, 1862.

4. Moise Bessette is listed as Joseph's brother and a witness at his wedding to Julia.

5. Michel Bessette is listed as Joseph's brother and witness at his wedding to Julia.

6. Alfred-Henri Bessette born May 18, 1850, Mawcook, township of Granby, Qc, baptized in "Baptiste Roussy Memorial" church of Grande Ligne.
