I have Samuel Daughenbaugh's signed CDV of him taken in Chicago in 1862 when he was the 1st Sergeant of Company G, 93rd Illinois. I have it posted on Ancestry.com, however I have it under another Samuel Daughenbaugh from the Freeport, IL area. I would like to compare pictures with you and make the correction offical.<br><br>

Then you are probably looking for my brother, but I think he turned 47 in December. I was born in Denver but my mom took me and my older brother (Paul Jr.) away when I was a baby. Leroy, Vince and Jesse are all younger than me, and had a different mother. She passed away some years ago, but had moved here with them. They moved here soon after I got pregnant with our dad's first grandchild. (1982) Then there was another grandchild, but her mother took her away from here too. That would have been a daughter of Vince. Come to think of it, is that Lynn that's looking for Leroy, Vince's daughter? I don't remember what her name is, only that they moved to Nebraska years ago. Leroy has 2 sons, both grown now. Anyway, Leroy lives a little south of Little Rock. Our dad lives just outside Clinton. Jesse lives in Little Rock, and Vince lives up around Mountain Home. Paul Jr. lives in Florida. <br>

My dad has bragged about knowing some folks in Kansas (relatives?) but would never say exactly who they are (or were). I do know that he has stayed there before, at least for a short time, from his own accounts...he is Paul Daughenbaugh, b. 12-20-32, still alive &amp; fiesty as ever at 79. He was born in Altoona, PA, and I was born in Denver, CO, and my mom is from Alabama (lets you know he got around). I am curious about your Daughenbaugh's. Ok, Barbara is or was daughter of Blanche &amp; Herschel...where were they from? Who were (or are) your grandparents that lived in Larned, KS when you were born? I have some contact with others who might know some things that I don't. You can find me on facebook (if you get on there) as RASADAK. I have a few relatives as friends on there, and there are lots more, all over the country. :-) Look forward to hearing from you!!

Wow!!! That is amazing!!! So glad it all was kept in the family. So many times things get scattered. (and my son complains saying that I'm a "pack rat"...LOL...when he gets my age he will appreciate it) I am related...Paul is my dad, son of Leroy, son of Harry, all originally from in or around Altoona, PA... just trying to piece it all together. Seem to have quite a way to go. Checking now to see if some of those who have done so much research are still around, and if not, then who would have their research. Hope to hear from you!!

Hi saw your post on ancestry.com concerning CLARA DAUGHENBAUGH. Her sister Ester Elizabeth is my gggrandmother. She was first married to George Meese. She had three daughters to George, Mary Ellen, Ethel Daphne and Minnie Francina. Minnie is my grandmother. I know her second husband was a Snyder, and would like to know a little bit about him and about Elizabeth also. I know she was quite a gal, and have some pictures of her and one that I think is George. If you have any info on that family, I would appreciate it so much if we could chat about it a little bit. My email address is <a href="mailto://lmgm67@verizon.net">lmgm67@verizon.net</a>. Once again, Thanks so much. Linda

Hello! My husband, Leonard Richert Daughenbaugh II (born Nov. 16, 1944) is the great-grandson of Captain Samuel Meyer Daughenbaugh. We have his sword, bible, epaulets, and a 1888 reunion photograph. The sword has a sheath. The bible was given to Samuel and is signed by his mother. The epaulets are in an oval, metal box. My husband's father, John Rustad Daughenbaugh (born Dec. 2, 1917, died Feb.6, 1988), is the son of Leonard Richart Daughenbaugh I who died in 1971. He married Clara Bertha Rustad) My mother-in-law (Grace Elizabeth Thompson Daughenbaugh) has a newspaper copy of Samuel's 1913 obituary. We would enjoy sharing and learning more about his (our)family.

Seth...I've been tryng to reach an Elaine Ford who noted that she was the daughter of Barbara Daughenbaugh who was given up for adoption in October 1947. I beleive that this is the same Barbara Daughenbaugh that I am also looking for. Below is my email response to her 2000 posting, I'm hoping that this email gets to you and we can see if Barbara is a connection. My personal email address is <a href="mailto://Pflughoeft@aol.com">Pflughoeft@aol.com</a>. Sharen Durler Pflughoeft<br>Email Response to Elaine Ford's 2000 Query: "Looking for Half-brothers and Half-sisters"<br>I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you are still out there...I'm looking for your mother and her descendants. If I'm right, Barbara, your mother, was married to Billy Selsor....parents Bertha Salmans and Wes Selsor, my great aunt and uncle. My granny Marlett (Della Salmans Marlett) and most of the family lived in Larned or outside Burdett and Hanston Kansas area forever. I'm trying to update the Salmans family genealogy. I have a number of pictures of Barbara, but have not been able to find her or descendants. Please contact me if you get this.<br>

Any suggestions for research? Best web sites or books to reference? Better yet, is there anyone here that I am related to?
I guess I didn't make myself clear. Henry was not previously married. I mean Grace and or Charles were. I am a distant relative of yours. My father was Robert Daughenbaugh , son of Chester, son of James Washington who was a younger brother of Henry, son of Michael, son of Christian, son of John, son of the immigrant Martin. I still live in the Howard, PA area where Henry lived and died. I do research in the summer and this is one of my main families to research. I do have old letters from my grandfather and one of his cousins to someone doing genealogy about the older Daughenbaughs. You would be surprised at how many people research this family!

thank you so much for your response. Are you related to this line? I don't have that Henry was married before so the Letitia side is new to me, but I'm going to check it out. My "henry" was, according to my records, son of John &amp; Catherine, but that may be where I keep running into the wall, so thank you for the new information which may help my search. Anything provided on this line is a help at this point. My Charles Pressler always came up as Charles Franklin Pressler as well, son of Isaac Pressler. Thanks again for your information. I really appreciate it.
