Seeking info on Joseph Griffin Daughtry, born Indian Springs, Butts Co., GA 10/11/1852. In a 1918 letter he described his grandfather as a slaveowner and one of the most prominent men of his time in Butts Co. He also described his father as having a plantation, mules and slaves, all by the time of his marriage. JG Daughtry married Lida Jordan in Macon GA. After the birth of their 3rd child, they moved to New York. He was an insurance agent for Northwestern Insurance Company.
