Classification: Query
Surnames: DOWTRY, GRANT, MOORE, BURNEY, ODOM, HAWKINS
Looking for information on Daniel and Betsy DORTRY who were living in Oglethorpe County, GA in 1870. Daniel was born in Virginia around 1835, and Betsy in Georgia around 1848. Children from the 1870 Census were Henry born 1865 and Mary born in 1868.
Mary DOTRY married 06 Sept. 1885 to Amos GRANT in Henry County, GA. and they remained in Henry County. Daughter Luella born Apr. 1894 is my G-Grandmother. She married Eben MOORE in Jasper County.
Daniel and Betsy are not found anywhere on the GA 1880 census index. I've tries most every variation of the spelling: DOTRY, DAWTRY, DOUGHTRY, DOUGHERTY, DAUGHTRY, etc. Are there any spelling that I'm missing?
Any help appreciated,
Vera
