You very well may have a Leo Dault in your line of Daults.

But Leo Oviela Dault b. 9 Mar 1910 d. 8 Oct 1968,married to Mary Angela LaBarge with one child Mary Angela,living in Bay City, was born to Lena Myrtle (Godin) and John Baptist Dault. Leo's brother Charles Willard was my father's father, they had one sister Gladys Marie Marvel.They all lived in Presque Isle when growing up.

I grew up in Bay City across the street from Uncle Leo so knew them well. Aunt Angie died first of cancer, then thier daughter Mary Ann died in a tragic car accident when she was 17, then Uncle leo died in 1968.They are all buried in Bay City.

As we all keep asking guestions and searching our lines we can help each other get our lines straightened out.

Leo Dault with a spouse of Angela Mary LaBarge and child Mary Angela living in Bay city was not the child of Oscar and Lillian. This is a mistake.

I am pretty sure I have information on you Antoine only as Antoine Daoust son of Clemence Lalonde and Antoine Daoust (married in 1852)who married Deline Lahaye aka Lehaie daughter of Justine Houle and Joseph Lahaye, in 1875. Yes Donna McGovern, we are the Deault's from Sudbury Ontario; Arthur and Mary were my Dad (Ferdinand)'s siblings. As for the name of Louis' wife, not sure, will haVe to check it out - My dad's parents were Paul Deault (or Daoust or Dault) have seen many different spellings and his mother was Emma Paquette. If I find anything out about Louis, will post it here. Wish I could contact you but will wait.

My maiden name was Deault. We had a second cousin by the name of Louis Dault that lived in Michigan. Not sure where. His wife's name was Inez. Apparently my grandfather's brothers moved to the States and changed their name to Dault. Our original name Deault came from France.
I remember he had children but that was a long time ago.
Hope that will help out.
I also had an uncle, my Dad's brother by the name of Arthur and he also had a brother by the name of Paul. My grandfather's name was Paul and they were from Ontario, Canada.

My father was also Arthur Dault but from Marquette, Michigan. He moved to Detroit around 1948. My Father married Alice from Dollar Bay, Michigan.

I think you are probably Christopher Dault's grandson. Is your Aunt Bea Gagnon? If so, then your grandfather and my great-grandmother were brother and sister.
My sister, Carol and I have been working on the Dault genealogy for a long time. Your Aunt Bea has helped us fill in some of the pieces.

My fathers name is Robert Donald Dault.
He is one of nine brothers & one sister. I know of 2 of his brothers off the top of my head, Harold Dault and Ed Dault.
Ed`s wifes name is Marie. Also my dad`s sister`s name is Bea.

I think my Louis Dault was born in St Timothee, Quebec, but am not sure. My Dault is derived from D'Aoust. Is yours. as well? If so, I have Bob D'Aoust's book and would be happy to any lookups for you.

My Prieur/Deveaux relatives, and most of their siblings' spouses, it seems, came from Saint Polycarpe, Quebec. Was your Louis from there, also?

If so, do you have a rough idea when he was born, and when he immigrated? Actually, if he died in Alpena you should be able to get his parents names from his death record (most counties are pretty good about doing one or two look-ups over the phone). I have a copy of an index to 1851 St. Polycarpe census and I know there are probably a hundred or more Daults listed there, and probably a half-dozen Louis Daults. I'd be glad to look him up if you can provide me a bit more info.

My G. G. Grandparents Hyacinthe Daoust & Emelie Lalonde
were married at St-Polycarpe, Quebec 13, Jan. 1835. Their
Parents were--Francois "Hubert" Daoust & Marie-Louise
Sauve & Luc Lalonde & Angele Dubois. They came to
Port Huron in 1856 & to Detroit in 1867. Several later
moved to Bay City, MI.

Their Son Jean Baptiste Daoust married Edyesse Roy at
St-Anne's Church in Detroit & were my G. Grandparents.
Edyesse's Parents were Jean Baptist Roy & Catheine
Miille who came to Detroit in 1850.

Can you check your census list for the following person I am looking for?
I'm am looking for the Canadian link to Joseph MENARD, b. 22 Jan. 1852 ( 1852 is on his tombstone in Eau Claire, WI), to the in Montreal area (St. Polycarpe??), to his parents "Joseph and Mary (or Marie?) Menard" (according to his July 4, 1878 marriage certificate to Mathilda AUSMAN in Eau Claire, Wisconsin). He had a brother John Menard who returned to Canada, he was listed as witness on the same marriage certificate. They reportedly came from a family of 12. My father used to read letters written in French from relatives in the St. Polycarpe area sent to his grandfather in the 1930s. The letters were destroyed in a fire. We also heard stories of Native American heritage, some relatives claim it is Mohawk or Mohegan, Algonquin or Abenaki.
Any help is appreciated.

Based on info so far, my St. Polycarpe relatives were:

Joseph Devaux and Adelaide Dault, with children:
Emily, b. 1835, d. abt. 1905-1910, Saginaw, Michigan
Eleanore, b. 1837, d. 1920, West Branch, MI
Isaac, b. 1842, d. 1920, Defiance, Ohio
Peter, b. 1844, d. 1905, Saginaw, MI
Georgiana, b. 1846, d. 1905-1910, Saginaw, MI
Cordelia, b. 1851, d. 1929, Terre Haute, IN

Eleanore was my gr-gr-grandmother.
All emmigrated to the U.S. betw. 1865 & 1877.
Georgiana and Cordelia never married. Between the other four they had 26 children.
Cordelia became Sister Mary Flavian, Sisters of Providence,
Terre Haute.

My great grandfather was Charles Dault from Ossineke. Although my grandma and grandpa (Zeph and Wilma) have passed, I'm sure my dad Jere and/or aunts could help you. My parents go to Long Lake quite often.

Do you know the names of any of Adelaide Dault's siblings? Your relatives appear to have come to Michigan before my Dault family. I am a descendant of Louis Dault. He came from Clarence Creek, Ontario to northern New York and on to Michigan in the early 1900's.

If you're from Alpena, then we're probably related. Who were your father's parents, grandparents? My sister, Carol Habel and I are the great granddaughters of Zoe Dault AuClair. Most of the Dault families came to Michigan in the late 1800's.
