Ernest R. Daum, 88, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011. Born Sept. 24, 1922, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Adam and Ella (Riechle) Daum. Ernest was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Syka) Daum; father of Terrie (Bill) Schiefelbein, of Georgia, Alan (Sharon) Daum, of West Sunbury, Jeff (Bianca) Daum, of Spring Hill, Linda (Gene) Trusky, of Monaca, and Ernie (Renee) Daum, of Woods Run; brother of the late Henry and Howard Daum; also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ernest was a member of American Legion Post No. 565. Family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 until the time of service at 8 p.m. Friday at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 388 Center Ave., West View, PA 15229. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Michael and All Angels' Lutheran Church, 1308 Spring Garden Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
