My great grandmother, Augusta Daus Dammann (1863-1941) lived in Troy, NY. I believe her middle name was Minnie. They were married in 1888 at the old German Evangelical Lutheran Church on River Rd. They had eight children. I have not been able to much about her and her family, any info would be greatly appreciated. I know she is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. My email is cynlong@mac.com.

Frederick C married Hannorah Moylan. They lived in Troy, NY where they raised their 8 kids. I am a granddaughter of Fred C & Hannorah. There is a facebook site called descendants of Hannorah Moylan Daus started by cousin Bryan also a grandson. email back at selbran@sbcglobal.net to reply.

Hallo!

It´s a german name with the root "Daus".

In the last two centuries some parts of Poland often changed between Poland and Germany till the end of the second world war in 1945. So the population was mixed. Also the writing-style of the name changed. Today we know the kind "Dausin" and "Dausien". Even brother and sister write there name different in the same family.

My great great father was born in 1872 in Graudenz (german)/today: Grudziądz (polish), he was a master upholsterer. His father was born 1840 in Klein Ellernitz/Westpreußen (german) /today: Lniska (polish).

My Daus ancestors were from the area now in Ukraine, used to be Hungary, before that Austria-Hungary. They came to the US in 1902. Josef Daus, wife Katerina, and sons George and Josef jr (later named Louis).

Charles Daus

I don't know much about him except that he married Barbara Prast and had a daughter named Frances. I don't know about any other children but I do know that Frances was born on January 23, 1920 and died in August of 1978 in Boulder, CO. I am trying to find out more on Charles Daus so if anyone has anything that might be helpful, please let me know. :)

Hello,

John J. Daus was my great great grandfather on my father's side. This is what I have been able to figure out so far:

John & Bertha married in Germany (date unknown) and immigrated here with John's parents Johann 1829-1900 and Wilhelmina (maiden name unknown) 1837-1910 in the late 1870's. He had 3 children that I know of Fredrick Charles Daus 1884-1928, Harold Daus 1884-1928, and my great grandmother Anna Daus 1892-1966. I think that Johann Daus's name may be Fredrick but I'm not sure?

You could possible be a great help. My great great grandmother was Anna Maria Daus Kunkel. She was born in 1822 in Germany. Her father was Henry Daus and mother was Maria Anna. I have nothing else on them, but there was a sister, Mary that married a John Wagner in Germany and then they also came to Granville, Putnam County, Illinois. Both daughters were there before 1850.

I am looking for any information on my father's mother's
family. Her name was Frieda Olga Daus. She was born @1918.
She 2 brothers named Theodore and Otto (aka Ozzie). Their
parents were Edward Daus and Emily Steg. Emily Steg's
father was Stephen. Edward's father was John, possibly.
Edward and Emily were born in the 1880's in Poland/Russia/Prussia/Germany. My grandmother had cousins in Baltimore.

The name Dausin is the female form of the German name Daus. My maternal grandfather was named Daus and came from West Prussia which is now in Poland.

My ggrandmother was Anna Maria Daus born 11 Nov 1822 in Bavaria to Henry and Maria Anna Daus. She came to the US in 1846 and married George Adam Kunkel. They farmed near Granville, Putnam Co., IL. She had a sister, Mary Daus Wagner that lived in Putnam for a while. I am looking for any connections to this family.

Sue, I talked to my dad and he said that his uncle George Daus (or Dewzs) pretty much stayed near Rib Lake in Taylor County, WI. and did not work on Lake Mi. on boats. Also he was married and lived on a farm up north. He would have been born in Germany and came to the U.S. in 1904, with his mother and brother, Louis.

I am not sure, I just started searching for my Daus side a few months ago. Do you know the father's name? My dad's grandpa, Joseph Daus, was born in Austria-Hungary in 1851 and came to WI in 1902. He had at least 3 kids, George, Louis, and Margaret.

In 1896, my great grandfather, Rudolf Meyn, and his mother Charlotte Meyn, emigrated from Hamburg Germany and settled in Rock Rapids, Iowa with her brother. I believe her brother's last name was Bunte. Charlotte Meyn remarried and then died around 1900 and was buried in Rock Rapids, Iowa. I'm looking for any information leading to marriage or death certificates or any other information. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just came across a photo of 2 little girs. One is Edna-May Daus (18 mo) and Deborah Delphine (30 mo) Daus. Their mother is Jenny (possibly Josephine) (Knox) Daus.
Their grandmother is Jane "Christine" (Dashney) Knox b July 1871 and grandfather John Knox. Great grandparents John "Joseph" Dashney b 1847 or 48 and Josephine Mary (Bouchard) Dashney b 1850. I believe I have photos of Joseph Josephine Dashney, Jane Christine and Jenny as a young girl. Let me know if you are related and have any info. I have info and pictures of many in these families.
