Hi Barbara Its me again I was looking on the net for Nancy B Thorne and I came across this Marion Indiana Trivia homepage and found info on Nancy B Johnstohn She is the daughter of John Johnston and Nancy Buford Lewin or Lewins have you any info on them It does say that she was born a Johnston and married Woodring with no info and then says Nancy married Horace E Thorne and moved to Torrance California. They were relatives to the girls that married the Steele family.

I found Paul Huston and Pauline Huston as grandchildren to Dola Frantz it looked like in the 1930 censu with Julia as a child and Henneth E Shatto grandson Does this help and if you have any more or need anything further. I am a pretty insistant chic. I will so what I can. Thanks Leslie

Judy Pettit apparently divorced my dad and ran off with Dale Howell I think they all worked together at McDonald Douglass Aircraft in Santa Monica. This was before my time. My mother also had three sons prior to the marriage of my dad. from Eugene De?or Le Forrest Huston married my mother under the name of Henederson and later she found out it was Huston b under the name Huston Nov 11 1918 according to records I found. While growing up people referred to Eugene as Lonnie. My brother was born Howard Joseph Henderson and was changed names by Grade Kindergarten to Huston b Mar 15 1950. Elizabeth Josephine Cardoza b 1913 Rodeo Ca b to Joseph Gomez Cardoza , Mary Hazel Caldera both from Azores Portugal. I cannot find the connection with my grandmother and them I talked to her last night. She still resides in West Los Angeles Ca goes by the name Elizabeth J Schultz. she claims to have the name Theresa as Baptismal name. Believe me I have been trying to get some info from her and she has been very reluctant. So all of a sudden she has a name (Theresa) and Aunt Sally(Cardoza) Davis became (Julia) Violet Davis and my Uncle Davee( Hugh Davis) .All from the West Los Angeles Area I at least know tht from the time my sister Katherine Gail Woodring was b feb 1957 to William George Woodring b feb 1931 m Judy Pettit.

Hi Barb I left off with my grandfather William Wellington Woodring b 1902 ky. Now as for Nancy I was looking for my grandfather William and landed upon him with Horace E Thorne and Nancy B Woodring William W, Lillian M both as step children so I figured Nancy B was the Johnston mother for William Wellington(1920 census Long Beach Ca ) I found (1910 Miracode Cesus Ky? with Nancy Woodring 29 yrs old with Josephine 13 William 08 Lillian M 06 (1915 Marriage report? in Clark Indiana Nancy Woodring m Horace E Thorne (1930 census Los Angeles 90065?) Thorne Horace E, Nancy B and Woodring William W 29 stepchild the is all I can find really. Now this is who my grandmother claims she is b Elizabeth Josephine Cardoza 1913

I was born Leslie Gae Woodring b Dec 01 1959 I also have twin brothers Jack William Woodring and Jerry Wayne Woodring b December 31 1962 all three of us were born in Santa Monica California myself at Santa Monica hosp and Jack and Jerry at St. Johns ,from this marriage of William George Woodring b feb 08 1931 b to William Wellington Woodring b 1902 according to cert. found on ancestry with mothers maiden name as Johnston and Shayna Reva Cohen b Nov 12 1929 Milwaukee Wi. b to Harry and Mattye Cohen 1920 and 30 census Milwaukee Wi. I found death ss cert have info in computer and saved with social security # I will look it up for you im afraid to lose this.

Hi Leslie. I am curious about the Nancy B. Woodring. I have lots of Woodrings/Wotring/Vautrins in this side of the family. My Great Grandfather was Junius Wellington Brown son of William and Susanna Brown. He married Phoebe Catharine Woodring and I have a lot of info there. I did not find a Nancy B. Johnson who married either a Woodring or a Thorne. I will dig some more on this one. I have a lot that is not indexed and it takes me a while to dig. Do lyou have any more info on the William Wellington Woodring? Who were his parents and did they have any sons? Please keep in touch. Barbara

Hi there wow this is the first time I have seen all four names on the same page. I have a grandfather named William Wellington Woodring b 1901 or so on his birth certificate it has Johnston listed as a mother's maiden name. I found William listed in the 1910 1920 and 1930 census wiht a mother Nancy B Woodring and then Nancy B Thorne. Do you have any info on these people. My grandfather also had two sisters that I knew of Lillian M and Josephine But I remember when I was a younger girl that we used to visit a Vera in California.

Henry DAVEE is my husbands great grandfather. I am pretty new at this also, but sure we can help each other.

Information that I have is:

Henry Davee b. 1821/22 b.Indiana and his father born in Ohio.(1880 Texas Census)

m. Martha b.1839 or 1845 (depending on which census,you read)

1870 Tex Census lists children:
George,age 19 b.MO
Joseph,age 12 b.MO
Mary, age 14 b.Ark
Martha age 10 b.Tex
Dora V.age 7 b.Tex
Nancy age 4 b.Tex
Janettie age 2 b.Tex
1880 Census Texas lists:
James P. age 8 b.Tex
Elijah age 8 b.Tex (twins?)
Jesse age 6 b.Tex
Susan age 3 b.Tex.(Susan is my husbands grandmother).My father inlaw is Susan's middle child, Jesse Neely Thacker b. 1905, he is 94 years old and in good health and remembers alot of things.

Older children are probably from marriage with Rebecca.(?)

I sent some information to Barbara Z last night and just got it back because I copied the email address wrong. I have re-sent it and hopefully it will go through this time.

I find no land records, allotments or claims in Kansas for the Brown family as being Indian. I may not be looking in the right place. My grandmother Gertie Brown, wife of Floyd A. Brown, told me when I was young that there was some Indiana "back there" but that Grandpa did not want to talk about it. I assumed it was because the Indian was on his side (The William/Susanna Brown side). I have been able to track down Grandma Brown's side (Shain) and Junius Wellington Brown's wife's side (Woodring) and find nothing. I have not found marriage records for William and Susanna other than what is mentioned in her obit whit I quoted in my last email.

To my knowledge, we haven't found William's parents' names or Susan's maiden name but Barb Z. has put together a wealth of information. Are you aware of any Cherokee ancestry? My grandmother told me that Susan was all or part Cherokee, but I've recently been told that this may not be true. Would like to know just out of curiosity if there's any truth to this. My grandmother was Letha Fay Johnson, I haven't seen Great Aunt Vera since I was a teenager. Chester A. Davee m Helen Klinefelter in Marion Co., IN on 17 Jan 1919. Helen was b ca 1903. She was the daughter of Jacob Klinefelter and Ella Batty. They were m 12 May 1883 in Marion Co., IN. Other children of Jacob & Ella were - Noah Adam; Marie; Jacob E. and May.

Ella Batty was the daughter of Edwin & Melvina Boots Batty.

If you would like further info on the Battys or Boots families I would be glad to share.

I am looking for info on Leslie Alan Davee. I know he married Wanda Mosby and had 5 children that I know of- Barbara, Fredrick(my father-in-law), Wayne, Elsie, and Donnie. I don't know any of Leslie's family before him. My daughter is a Davee and I would like to get this info for her if anyone can help!

Thenks Janna, I have been in contact with Barb for a few months now. We found we were distant distant cousins through one of these boards. We are both decendents of 2 different sons of Zachariah Davee. I am now wondering how the Maine Davees link on to us, or if they do. So far I don't have anyone from Maine. Do you have any links to Morgan County, Indiana? Many of Davee's were born and married there, I have been told that many of the Davee decendents still live in that area today. There was a Westley Davee born about 1882 Morgan County Indiana but he was the son of Jonathan Davee and Mary Caroline Wilson. Jonathan Davee died 20 Aug 1904 Landersdale, Morgan Co. Indiana and Mary Caroline Wilson Davee died 31, Nov 1926 Indianapolis, Marion Co. Indiana.
