YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at noon at the Antioch Baptist Church for Ms. Mary A. Davenport, 70, who departed this life on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Briarfield Manor. (Mahoning County)
Ms. Davenport was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Pelham, Georgia, a daughter of Robert E. and Sophie Hopkins Warren Sr.
Mary was married to Hope Davenport Sr. and had four children.
She attended Albany State University in Albany, Ga.
Mary was a former member of the Summer Hill Baptist Church in Pelham, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to music, reading, writing, playing the piano, working on her computer and spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, John K. (Anessa) Davenport Sr. and Hope D. Davenport Jr., both of Youngstown; two daughters, Carrie (Greg) Davis of Youngstown and Daphne (Jake) Delegawl of Pelham; one brother, Robert E. (Eliza) Warren Jr. of Youngstown; three sisters, Josephine (Prostell) Thomas, Delores Aytch and Carrie J. Rushing, all of Youngstown, OH; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerome Morgan; and a sister, Vera Mae Hill.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
