Hugh Ralford Davenport is my great grandfather from Knoxville, TN. I'm not sure of his birthdate, but know he died in 1926. In fact, his wife, Hattie Reynolds, died a week later after her case of pneumonia worsened from standing out in the rain during the funeral. Both are buried at the Davenport cemetery in South Knoxville.

Am looking for Hugh Ralford Davenport's parents. Here's what I know about him. He had two sisters, Susie Davenport Brown who died in the 1960s, and Carrie Davenport Stanley. Hugh R. Davenport married Hattie Reynolds around 1900 ish. They had six children---Lydia, John (my grandfather) Lee, Hugh, Joe, and Charles. I know that Hugh R. served in the Tennessee Volunteer Army as well as the regular army. He also lost an arm. He worked as a muleskinner and a trolley car operator.

I thought his middle name Ralford sounded like it might be his mother's maiden name???
